Did this brisket in the smoker yesterday. Tell you what I used to be a big fan of vertical smokers but seeing all these pellet grill smokes makes me envious haha

It turned out good even if it finished in record time with no stall which was a little frustrating but I wrapped it in foil and threw it in the cooler for a couple hours

That bark though! Love it!

Just woke up to my temp alarm to wrap my brisket, so far so good!

The last brisket we did had zero stall also and was done in about 3 hours. Turned out great but confused the heck out of us time wise

The bark is always the the best part!

I was kind of bummed I got up early to get everything going to eat around 5 and the dang thing was done at 2! I saw it rising quickly but was hoping for the stall and it just never happened. Like I said I left it in the cooler wrapped in foil and it was still hot even a few hours later plus very moist

Last time I did a pork shoulder it stalled for like 3 hours and we ate late haha. Smoking is a funny thing.

And into the cooler and resting until this afternoon.

Went 10lb my first try, so it was faster than I expected to hit the number.

Here’s hoping!

Finishing up some brisket burnt ends before slicing the flat.

How'd it turn out?

I used my moms new Pitt Boss this weekend and got a lot of compliments on the ribs and chicken I did. The smoked queso that Nate recommenced was a hit as well.

Couldn't stop eating it could ya?!

The only thing that kept me from eating it was being on the boat. We actually had some left but we made a lot and didn’t have as many people come to my aunts lake house.

HOLY YESSSS!!! wow burnt ends and delicious BBQ.

The answer to my question is probably buried somewhere in this 189 page thread :p

But, I got to use a pellet grill for the first time this weekend. Nothing fancy. Just some steak for a large group of people at the lake. Turned out really good. Kind of reaffirmed that a good pellet grill could legit be a gas grill replacement. So, now I am looking into something similar. It was a Pit Boss. I won't go with Traeger simply based on price. I have always heard great things about Pit Boss. But, haven't really looked into them for a few years. Are there any new up and coming brands that you guys have found that would be even more friendly to the budget?

I did an awesome flap/skirt steak marinated in chimichurri I made

@radiman Pit Boss is a great smoker for the money. I think they get unfairly bashed because they get unfairly Compared to $1k+ smokers. If you run into a problem, it’s apparently a real PITA to get a part or help from the factory, but low overhead keeps prices down.

I’m also shopping for my first pellet grill. I’ve narrowed it down to brands. Grilla Grills and Green Mountain Grills. Please share what you decide on.
