Always said pee-can but I guess that’s the southern coming out.

I once asked this same question to a server at a little diner and he replied “sir it’s puh-con, you can find a pee can under grandpas bed.” :ROFLMAO:
 
Puh-con....but actually more like "P'con".
 
I say it the correct way. Puh-con
 
So I just blew my own mind. I read the thread title on the front page and said pee-cans when I saw the first word. Then I read the rest of the title and corrected myself to puh-con. So when I don't think about it I guess I say pee-can. I guess I say both

I think of it more as the Southern pronunciation of it. My relatives from the South all pronounce it like "p'con".

Which is funny, I would’ve thought the southern version would have been pee-can

That’s a truly nutty question. I’m a Northerner so forgive me if I pronounce it:

pee can
 
I was taught it’s puh-con because a pee-can is what you use like an out house
 
I say it improperly because I was raised way too far north. Puh-cons.
