I know lots of reality shows have some things staged for entertainment purposes but I think the most obviously fake reality show I've seen has to be Airplane Repo on the Discovery channel. I know this show is a few years old but I can't get over how bad their reenactments are of airplanes being repo'd.

Anything else just as terrible?

All of them seem unwatchably fake to me.

I agree a lot of those shows are staged or fake, and badly so. There was a car repo show based in NC that was pretty heavy on the staged set ups. My dad knew a guy who was contacted by this particular show’s production team and pitched a set up that involved a repo occurring during a civil or rev war reenactment. The guy declined to take part. Lo and behold, several months later there is an episode of the show that takes place during a period reenactment. Obviously, the producers found some group willing to take the job. Even for that type of reality tv show, it was dumb.:ROFLMAO:

Real Housewives of ________________.

I dislike the audience manipulation of those kind of shows. Very cynical on the part of the show producers.

Every reality show after the first season..

god that show is terrible. Id also like to point out how terrible Storage Wars is. ooo oo ooo......also moonshiners used to be fun. But man was it a terrible depiction of "illegal" moonshiners. I mean, youre on tv for christ sakes.

I could go on.

Used to like Pawn Stars......but good lord it sucks now. Id much rather watch American Pickers.

YYYUUUUPPPPP, storage wars got fairly wild with the story lines sometimes. Really though, how many mega-scores can there be when buying rooms full of people’s junk? It was a stretch sometimes with what they were “finding.”

There are way too many that come to mind...where do I start?

Well i have no doubt they find stuff. Thats not the story line. Its the crazy antics of the "characters" on the show that make it unwatchable.

We've never had cable or satellite TV, so the "reality" shows we've watched have been the ones on the broadcast TV networks.

The only ones with which we ever bothered were American Idol, Hells's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Master Chef, and America's Got Talent.

After a few seasons it began to be apparent to us that, in each instance, the outcomes were clearly being manipulated in both obvious and non-obvious ways. The only one we bothered with lately had been AGT. We started losing interest in that when it became clear many of the judges' choices were based more on social issues than than talent or originality. When the live audiences went away, so did we.

TBH: All we bother with on TV, anymore, are series' and movies on streaming services. Our broadcast TV watching, in particular, is down from a high of probably 4-6 hours/week to 3-4, and much of that is re-runs from years ago. (Old episodes of Last Man Standing, Two and A Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, Friends, Cheers, Frazier, etc.) Part of that 3-4 hours/week used to be news, but "news" coverage here in the U.S. has become such a joke we watch that, no longer, either.

Any show that has people finding valuable items in locked storage containers or the American Pickers or any of those shows are just so fake and staged.

I will say, I do watch Big Brother and even Survivor which are both staged to make it look real.

Ah. I'd almost forgotten about Moonshiners. Like they expect people to believe that a film crew is following people making moonshine AND the police out searching for them.

All of them. My wife is addicted and it drives me crazy. I have to leave the room. She knows they're all staged and she doesn't care. Strictly entertainment for her.

If you look at these shows as reality based, not pure reality, they are easier to take. Even though I’m not a car guy, I enjoy the car shows like Fast and Loud. They have to add some kind of drama, like forced deadlines to make them more interesting. American Pickers has a lot of staged picks, but it doesn’t matter to me. They are likeable guys and pick interesting stuff. If shows only showed what really goes on, they’d be so boring no one would watch. I watch for entertainment. I don’t care how real or staged they are.
As far as the worst reality shows go, I won’t watch any of the singing or dancing shows or any of the social shows like Big Brother, Housewives of whatever city, and similar offerings.

I tried watching a couple of the airplane repo shows....just can't do it.

The one's I can't stand are the ghost hunter types or the medium " I see dead people" crap. The wife loves them and would watch them non stop, it would seem in this day and age of phones and cameras some one would actually have a picture or video by now of something.

I do laugh at the Ozzie show, they do seem to get it is all BS and just play off it.

CNN and Fox News are the worst at this

As far as I'm concerned they are all faked, and or staged. Not worth watching.

I spent 6 months traveling around, going to various storage unit actions in the Vegas Valley. I'd like to say I broke even, but I'd be a liar.

I'm going to go in the way-back machine but for me The Casino was the absolute worst staged reality TV show I've ever seen! I'm not talking American Casino, which was tolerable, but the Mark Burnett one that followed the two guys that bought the Golden Nugget - it only lasted 1 season as was aweful!

Lizard Lick Towing is completely staged! They use local pro wrestlers as extras and as stuntmen. Also, Street Outlaws! Apparently, you're going to go do "illegal" street racing in Oklahoma City with production crews, stadium lights, etc., but the cops never show up and arrest people?

Surprised not to hear Driver V Driver
