I don't think you can go wrong with the Ping iron and the G440 is proof of that. They will never be the top performer in all categories, but for the mere mortal golfer, they will perform very reliably. My first set of irons were the GMax (remember this) and after selling them to one of my...
Let me just add, if I didn't spend money on golf clubs, I wouldn't have anything to spend it on. But I also have to admit that my buying has slowed down considerably after discovering that what I have works pretty good. I did just replace my two wedges (currently Callaway Jaws 50* and 54*) for...
Anyone have any experience with a VA Composite golf shaft. I've got a VA Composite shaft in my driver (Callaway AI Smoke 10.5). I went for a fitting in Palm Springs and the fitter said my spin was too high - almost 4K with a driver. We tried everything to get the spin down and finally went...
You are right! 100%, but I kind of enjoy the challenge. I wish I could just say golf is fun, but for me, it's a challenge. Call it a personality defect, but I've never been able to do anything half way.
Don't get me wrong, if I shoot 90, I'm ok as long as it was the best I could do on that...
I've got a recurring problem that I'm trying to fix which could really help with why GIR's. I have a launch monitor at home with a hitting bay in the basement and I'm getting too much left spin axis. Especially as I get into the 7, 6, and 5 irons. Going for a few extra yards just throws my...
At 77 years old, I should probably be playing the forward tees, but I play one back. I guess I'm not ready to play with the ladies on the forward tees, but in all honesty, that's were I should be. So I play from the senior tees and shoot in the low 80's. I could probably get to my age from...
Of course, if I were hitting the ball 250 yards on my drivers, I'd be playing from the men's tees, maybe even one back from the men's tees. If I played par 4 approach shots from within 100 years, I'd feel very good about scoring par or better.
I can relate tot his. I use a golf app called Golfpad and typically only look at four things... score, of course, putts, GIR% (which is normally very low - 25 - 35%), and scrambling. I do also look at 1-putts just because I've really focused on putting. Typically, my 1-putts are on scrambling...
I've just been watching some videos and I think some of my issue is caused by wrist flexion. I'm going to work on that and see if it helps. Anyone used the Hack Motion device to work on that issue?
It seems like when I'm fresh and just starting out, I have more control over the club face. As I get into the round, things are not nearly as controllable. As a senior golfer, that's probably to be expected, but I need to find some ways to limit the damage.
I think I am getting too far inside, but with the constant reminder to hit "inside to out" I've probably over done it and now it's part of my grooved swing. I have tried to get more vertical with my swing to limit the inside to out swing and that does help.
It's nice to know that this worked...
I've been fighting a draw with my irons. Not so much with the PW - 7, but when I get to the 6 and 5, it really shows up. Actually, even the 7 iron can be a problem. I have a launch monitor so I can see the amount of spin axis on my shots and they can get up to 20 - 25 left.
I've found a...
I've been fighting a pull/draw with my irons. Just wondering if offset is contributing to this and would an iron with less offset help? If offset is contributing to this, since I'm a senior golfer, anyone know of a game improvement club with the least amount of offset.

Have you noticed any significant drop off between the 923 HL and the 923 HM? I'm assuming you compared both before deciding on the 923 HL.
I'm trying to decide on the 925's and can't decide if I should go with the HL or the HM. Here's an interesting video comparing the 923 HL...
Please forgive this distance centric question. I'm 76 and only hit on the average about 28% GIR, so holding greens is the least of my problems, but getting to the greens is much more important. Just wondering how these 925's compare to the 923's in terms of distance? I've currently got a set...
I've played 3 rounds with the Opus wedges. All I can say is these are clearly the best wedges I've ever used. Previously played the Jaws Raw in black and now I have the 54* and 50* in black. I had an 80 yard shot the other day in the fringe and opted for the 50*. Generally I use the 54* for...
