Hypothetically sure, He's hitting these new 7 irons as far as he hit his old 5 iron. But now he's doing it with a 37" shaft, instead of a 38" shaft. And his game (theoretically) should be much easier as he'll be way more consistent with the 7 instead of a 5.

How does the stock shaft compare to the cypher of the old one? The older one just works and works damn well. I’ve always wanted maybe another 10-15 yards tho, so thinking of the new one. But the Cypher shaft just fits me so well.

Also in that thread there was talk of a 4 hywood at 20*. So perhaps that's why they made the 3, a little longer. The current one is a mainstay, but I will be buying all new ones to test for sure!

Just read that the new Hywood is 17 degrees, 1/2” longer, and a lighter shaft. Might fit right alongside the old one.
