Favorite golf company that's not currently in your bag?

Miura here. I'd love some buttery Japanese forged irons. Much more likely to end up with some Callaway X-Forged though (if I could play them).

mini-driver question from a historical hater

Don't have fully accurate data to confirm but I'd say maybe 1-2mph is a good estimate. I'm about 10-15yds shorter with my mini than my driver on an average hit of each.

    Will your swing age well.

Hoping so. I'm fortunate enough to be pretty flexible for my age and my swing isn't too crazy. Like many others I'll take slightly slower, and slightly shorter as I age and keep my fingers crossed everything holds up.

Who in the golf industry would you most like to talk to?

Great question. So hard to pick No longer with us - Seve Ballesteros Alive and kicking - Sean Toulon - between Taylormade, Callaway and of course Toulon - so many great stories, and maybe some putting tips !

    Callaway Opus SP Wedges

Wear was definitely part of it but not the only reason. A combination of: - New shiny ;) - I had picked up a 58/12X to replace my OG Opus 58/12W to get the lower flight and more spin and that had an S200 shaft not the DG 115mid in my OG wedges so this matches in with an S200 also - Wanted a...

What golf stuff did you buy today?

My previously used Opus SP 54/10S arrived today from the eBay seller. Got it with a cheeky offer of £95 / $127 (which was a good enough saving from £159 / $199) to take a punt on the fairly poor photos. Gave it a quick scrub with the Groove-it and this was the result. To say I'm pleased would...

Considering Switching from Arccos to Shot Scope - Talk to me

You are able to set any shot as "positional" in the review and edit of your round. I'll typically use it for punching out from trees with say a 5i or 6i when it might be 100yds rather than a normal distance. Shots within 50 yards are also treated differently - from the intenet as they said it...

Considering Switching from Arccos to Shot Scope - Talk to me

Minor correction. The Shotscope watch has it's own GPS chip and can work independently of a mobile phone during the round.

2025 Callaway Utility Series – Apex UT

@hedley_lamarr you are absolutely nailing that off the deck. My 2024 model 20 degree was superb off the tee this year, but other than on the range I'm not sure if I hit it in anger on a scoring round from the deck. That was instrumental in my decision to go the 2025 model but in an 18 degree to...

Considering Switching from Arccos to Shot Scope - Talk to me

This is usually a once off reset either from new, or sometimes after a firmware upgrade. You shouldn't be having this as a recurring issue. I also haven't noticed a major difference between the X5 and the V5 in this regard having got both (I'm running a V5, son is on an X5). Have you worked...

Have you met other THP on the course

Yes - truly gutted this didn't happen. Family medical issue on my side. When you come back over we'll make sure we do get the chance to meet up and hopefully play some holes.

    Callaway Opus SP Wedges

Hey I'm a long long way away from you but I got your back on this one. $96 for those two (and your points) - they are practically paying you to use them.

Considering Switching from Arccos to Shot Scope - Talk to me

Used Arcoss a little before I moved to Shotscope. - I absolutely have no regrets about moving to Shotscope. No regrets whatsoever. - I have had an X5, and currently run a V5. Either are great, functionality pretty much the same now after firmware upgrades. Bezel on the X5 is really nice - then...

    Callaway Opus SP Wedges

I had chrome in the Jaws, and chrome in the Opus. For my SP I got a lightly used 58 in satin/chrome, and then spotted a 54 again lightly used in black - so I'll have one of each. Ideally I'd probably have wanted them the other way round but I'm thinking having a color finish difference should...

What's the number? If you won the lottery tomorrow, what's the number you would just quit/retire and play golf all the time?

$1m, converted into GBP and I'd be gone. I'm close enough to retirement, have a decent pension pot already, and my kids are almost through college. You never get the years back, and I'm itching to play more golf !

    Callaway Opus SP Wedges

I got told very early on in this forum that loft gaps don't matter - yardage gaps do, and at the wedge end of the bag partials, for me, are far easier to dial in for accuracy.

    Callaway Opus SP Wedges

Definitely would echo this comment. I'm hitting partial AW to gap between my 115yd full swing AW, and my 100-102yd 54 Opus and then between that and my 80yd 58 Opus - wouldn't want or need to put another club in there.

    Callaway Opus SP Wedges

Definitely worth a look at Opus as an upgrade from Jaws raw. Great deals on Opus now - although I haven't seen any Opus SP in CPO Europe at all - but I found mine elsewhere. I went from Jaws to Opus last October and found a decent improvement. Not that it is a guarantee of course, and some of...
