They don't make them like they used to. I had a ping hoofer from the mid to early 90's that lasted 10+ years walking and carrying, now they don't last more than a few years or so. I sometimes get bored and buy a new bag even if I don't need one.
It's kind of funny reading this thread, I have bad ocd but can't stand 14 way bags. I really like everything in its place too. The clubs that share a spot in the bag are always put back in the same spot. On cpo days having to walk across the fairway with a few clubs then having to find 3 or 4...
I've mainly used a ping hoofer since the mid 90's. I've went a loooong time without a ping club in my bag. I currently have ping woods and hybrids in there. So, no it doesn't have to match...
I'm partially OCD so when I get home and bring my clubs inside I will clean out any trash or anything extra that found its way in my bag as soon as I get home.
I had a Seamus ball marker from Pine Needles with my son's name engraved on the back and lost it during a round. I don't think it really affected my play too much but I was sad that it was gone as it was important to me.
