All the clubs in my bag are built by me. Even recently swapped our my putter shaft. I have built a number of sets over the years and feel very confident in doing so.
Different, I was fit back in 2018 for a Callaway Driver, TM Fairways, TM Irons, and Cleveland wedges. I stick with the TM fairways as I am very confident in hitting them. I have since switched to Takomo and now Sub70 Irons. But will always stay with the TM fairways.

Yes, I sole the club in the guide, that is its purpose. With a club ruler you have to always have the same angle. This lays on the bench and you sole it the same each time. Very easy to use.

I've used the same one. For a a little over 2 years now and really like it alot. Best measurement tool I've used. And I've only tested one club, but the SW measurement using the Hireko estimator is within 0.1 to 0.2 points of my Mitchell gauge. More than adequate for the home builder.
I built 2 of these from plans on the web, they are no longer available, but it was an easy build. I collect sets of logo balls for various reasons;
