Getting older, terrified of losing the ability to play golf.

I guess the only way I can logically respond to the OP is don’t dwell on it as it serves no productive purpose. You’re still playing so enjoy every minute of it. For some, playing golf at an elder age is some of their best golf. Can I do the things at my age that I did when I was yours? Oh...

    The 60 and over Thread

Playing this morning at the muni. Don’t know if we’re playing 5650 or 6350. Probably the latter. Had rain this past weekend but nothing like they predicted so it shouldn’t be a mud pit. Supposed to be sunny and pushing 80. So shorts. Oops, sorry to those still shoveling.

    Buying a E-Caddy

The follow function on my Caddytrek works pretty darn well. Very few issues. Also, the remote is on my belt so I still have full control should the need warrant or if I choose to remote it.

    Buying a E-Caddy

There’s quite a few customer comments on the Pro at Motogolf.com. That might help you. That’s quite a surprising response from the mfr on the Neo. Guess they put it to market before it was fully tested.

Play pretty much year round here as well. Also go through the a significant scoring increase, like every year. Attribute it to cold, wet, mud, multiple clothing layers, misaligned stars, the pending golf ball rollback, and the wife for lettting me play in these horrendous conditions. Anything...

Putting with front-side eye dominance - how do you manage?

I am front eye dominant. Left handed playing right as well. During a putter fitting a few years ago, the fitter asked me the question of eye dominance. His suggested putter heads were mallets with longer visual lines on top.

Does New Equipment Actually Lower Scores?

I guess I’m splitting hairs. Can it make a difference in scores? Yes, potentially. Does it make a difference? More so No than Yes. Offline is still offline, maybe only very slightly less offline.

Why did you switch to an electric push cart?

I added a Motocaddy Dry Series golf bag a year or 18 months ago. They were hVing a model refresh and the bag was half price. It is a super nice bag very sturdy, great storage, and works well on any e-cart I’d say. Probably has 200 rounds with it and with a wipe with a damp rag, looks good as new.

Why did you switch to an electric push cart?

There are two accessories that although may not seem a big deal, do play a factor. At least for me at 70. The seat accessory or a small tricycle camp stool that folds up in your bag. It nice to have a place to park your caboose when backed up waiting your next shot. I picked up one at dicks that...

Where do you turn when your wedges aren't on?

When the wedge goes south, which is has this winter, I’ve gone to the hybrids a lot.

How do you golf on a budget?

Our city course is always looking for marshals and the perk is free golf. Definitely an option for someone looking to help mitigate the costs a bit.

Why did you switch to an electric push cart?

As everyone is seeing, it is kind of a rinse and repeat response from those with e-carts. And mine is no different. Best golf purchase I’ve made. From tired after 15 to walk in the park. Best thing next to having a real caddie. All of those. The remote is absolutely a big deal and tops the must...

    When it’s WINDY…

Was from ‘94-‘10. Lived in OKC and Shawnee. I still believe to this day, OKC is one of the best kept secrets, golf-wise. There was like 30 playable courses with 45 miles center of town. Most were public and most very reasonably priced. At least compared to other locals. Don’t know how it is now...

    When it’s WINDY…

Living and playing golf for 16 years in the Sooner State, it’s kind of wind or no play. One round playing somewhere near Lawton, a front came through. Went from sunny and a nice breeze to dark and blowing like nuts. Had to be pushing 50+. We were walking back to clubhouse just before the rains...

    The 60 and over Thread

Fun tidbit. Sometimes as we get older we notice things that just a few months ago no problem are all of a sudden much more taxing. I was really having to lift to get my bag in and out of the trunk. Man, I’m getting weaker by the day it seems. Why’s this bag feel so heavy? Before my tournament...

    The 60 and over Thread

All this talk about a 9W over the last several months has had me on the lookout. Of course, I have absolutely no clue where it would gap in. My 4W is basically my 175-180 slot. The 7W is hovering at 160. My middle slots are urgently out of whack based on my ‘26 numbers so far with 5H-156...

    The 60 and over Thread

Mentioning talking off the ledge and @Grand Stranded in the same sentence is an oxymoron. He’d be the first one in line behind you pushing you over the cliff into a pile of new clubs. 🤣 I will admit, the 4/7W combo is really ideal. I have huge confidence in both those clubs, although Callaway...
