Spitballing here…..but it seems like the timing would effect the launch angle which would effect the spin?
Maybe those who have been through a real fitting might know what happens between flexes and profiles.
I’d imagine it takes a pretty hard steel to force a bond with titanium. They’d probably look pretty good just raw. Gun bluing raw steel is nothing and shockingly lasts longer than you’d think. Titanium is a different beast.
Would TT actually build clubs?
From the OEM standpoint if I’m selling Callaway thousands of shafts that are eventually going to have grips, I’d make them an offer they couldn’t refuse if I’m manufacturing my own grips now.
I don’t see how that would work since the final length is determined after assembly. I’d guess that they’d spec “7 iron shaft for Brand X irons” then provide pre-gripped, pre-cut shafts for final assembly?
This is a very interesting question and one I’ve thought a lot about. It’s gonna get long winded. Sorry.
Started when I was 20, worked on several courses. LOVED golf. Put it down for around 12 years chasing other things. Backpack hunting, competitive shooting, lots of skeet, trap, pistol, bass...
