Might as well blame Bill too, enjoyed talking with him.
Honesty man, I’m a little anxious about getting it in my hands. I have an idea of what I’m expecting in comparison to what I’ve been playing/testing and how it translates from my understanding to reality.
And actually, that might also...
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that fitting goes on the same list as slow play and loft jacking as far as hot topics (or misunderstood?). The podcast with Vrska had me thinking one direction and this one kinda got me a little overwhelmed. That’s not a rub on anyone, just self-awareness...
(Just for fun, not an entry)
I thought the #7 was the dumbest looking putter ever. Then tried one, then bought one. Then bought 8 more and tried every configuration Callaway made. Now I don’t even look at other putters and it’ll take an act of Congress or the Callaway staff to make me replace it.
Haven’t listened yet, but I can totally see how AI could change fittings from a grand ordeal of testing to optimizing everything in 10 swings or less and likely DIY.
So I found this old 9” bag for a whopping $35 and thought it would be good for my extras. It was king back in the day. Four pockets and 6 dividers, even has the rain cover. Right now it’s got 16 irons, 9 shafts, 2 woods and 2 putters in it and there’s still an empty slot.
Am showing my age...
His pragmatic contrarian personality reminded me too much of myself and too much of what he said made too much sense to me. Can’t wait to dig into this thing!
Hit an “outlaw country” playlist today and ended up in a John Prine kick. I knew kinda who he was and had heard a few of his songs before. Never really listened though. That guy is something. My best description so far is: More laid back than pre-80’s Jimmy Buffett with less being even more...
Sold.
I read all I can read and heard all I needed to hear. Talked to Bill for a bit and ordered a 55* today. This is the first “brand new” golf club I’ve bought since 2003.
Stayed tuned…..
