Arrogant Southerner here who laughed at the "dry heat" with a reckless abandon at Bali Hai.
I was in Vegas a few weeks ago at 112. Used to that heat after 28 trips, but never played golf out there. I stayed pretty comfortable even with a hangover. I don't use air conditioning just for the purpose of being able to golf in the heat lol. Left the course thinking I was good to go. It wasn't until well after the round that it hit me.
Then it hit...When I got back to the casino and started drinking beer I was immediately sloshed after 4 beers. Dripping sweat like I had the plague as soon as the AC hit me. Then the cramps come in, so I played video poker standing at the bar like a psycho with a Pedialyte. Haha favorite bartenders laughing at me. Haha finally caved, hobbled over to MGM from Luxor and got an IV right before they closed.
Haha so I guess the lessons are don't go on day 4 of a 6 day bender, rehydrate after the round before drinking, and if you are going to drink on the course keep it to beer with some water... Not bourbon with some beers lol.
