YAY!! The LPGA is back in full swing :D

is Wie really that tall? Or maybe the rest are that small - she looks like a giant!

From left to right:
Michelle Wie: 6'
Cristie Kerr: 5'3-1/2"
Jiyai Shin: 5'1"
Lorena Ochoa: 5'6"
Ai Miyazato: 5'2"

She still looks like a giant, it almost looks like the picture was done in Photoshop.

I was thinking more Snow White & the Four Dwarves.

Thanks for that, Harry!

checking my DVR schedule, the tournament is not listed for tomorrow (Thursday). Hopefully it is on, I just recorded "paid program."

Just checked and it's on mine (DirecTV) 9:30am-12:30pm PT.

I hope that they just didn't enter it in the schedule. I am taping the "correct" times just in case.

Good start with at least 3 hours of coverage, as opposed to last week.

Two of my favorites are playing together, Christina Kim and Kristy McPherson.

I'm sure that's it. GC broadcasts a single schedule and doesn't adjust for time zones, so I'm sure you're good.

3 hours is awesome if they do a good job with it. Disappointed that they drop to 2.5 for Sat. and Sun.

Agreed, last weeks coverage was horrible, not only the time restrictions, but just the coverage in general. It can only get better from here!

here's hoping for real HD coverage.

Hard to say looking only at the leaderboard after a single round, but it doesn't look like the scores will go quite as low as they did last week.

I agree Claire. I hope we get some separation on some of these. It seems as though that for the most part a lot of these girls play this course the same way. Would love to say a nice 2-4 person race outplaying everybody else. But that is just me.

This is tough with the ladies playing so much earlier than the broadcast. That is the one downside to things like Twitter, I have to avoid it for the day if I want to keep from knowing the scores before I watch the golf.

I'll try not to give away too much here.

Familiar faces at the top of the leaderboard. A couple of major blowups--one by a superstar, and a disappointing start for a promising rookie.

We have spoiler tags for a reason. Chat away. I cannot believe how bad that Ochoa played in this round. Putting up a 79 basically took her out of it. I spoke to someone over there that talked about the scores being perplexing today. Girls were going low and then blowing up on a hole here and there. He thought with the pin placements today that the scores would go pretty low today.

Nobody is pulling away, so it should lead to a packed weekend at the top I believe.

Except for the 15 year old Singapore girl who was given a sponsor's exemption, Amanda Blumenherst is dead last at +9.

Another highly touted Duke product that won't win on the LPGA?

Announcers have Vicky Hurst in commentary booth after her round:

Announcer: [blah, blah, blah. . .] from Melbourne in Florida.

Vicky Hurst: Yes.

Announcer: Not Melbourne, Australia.

Vicky Hurst: Nope, but I'm going there soon.

Announcer: Ahhhhhh! Look forward to having you down under!

:quiet:

Claire, are you following this tournament?

Why can't the golf channel play this live instead of airing it half a day later in the states? Or do both? Air it live, and air it later in the day.

I clicked on this thread to read what was being said about the ladies. And here I see the results from JB. Shame on me for not realizing that it was a good possibility for that happening, but still.

I could have DVR'd the live coverage, and could have been watching it right now.

Oh well...............

We put spoilers in the thread titles of events that are going on for that reason.

Sorry about that.

No, no, don't be sorry. I fully understand the intent of the spoilers in the thread title.

It just caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting to see it, I guess.

It was my fault.

That being said, that cute little Miyazato can play some golf.
