2020 Better You Fitness Thread

Well...after talking with sposey013168 it looks like I have a hiatal hernia or GERD or both. I’ve been pretty much doubled over in pain since 4 pm. Looks like trips to the doctor & hospital instead of workouts and range sessions are in the near future for me.:sick::sick:

Oh no, the deadlifts and presses were heavy. The overhead squats were not.

My thoughts are with you. People that have not experienced GERD don’t realize how bad it is.

I am have been off my workout game for 3 years from this. Hopefully will able to hit the gym soon though

That hot tub sounds like a great way to end a workout! Helps with my aches and pains.
 
Some swing work and then stretching.. Today is a recovery day for me. Planning to run tomorrow then 27 holes on Monday
 
Leg day. never skip leg daY right? 15/15 so far this month.

I should do more leg work but I'm primarily focusing on running and some plyometric exercises

Sounds like you have a good plan going, especially those 27 holes on Monday!
 
Got my yoga and push ups in today after slacking yesterday. Did a nice full body yoga session. I've really been noticing much more range if motion and less tension than when I started. Cant wait to see how this affects my swing!

Well done, keep it up! I might need to try something like yoga to get more flexibility

I haven't missed a workout in over a year, but lazy sunday morning with the wife (cook her breakfast), take her golfing, out to eat after and get some booze in her, etc isn't leaving a lot of time for leg day tomorrow. It's so hard trying to fit actual golf into the middle of winter!!!

So if you have to skip golf or leg day, you skip...

..out once she's liquored up to cram in a leg workout???

I'm thinking an extra drink and then nap for her, gym for me, come back with something for her. She's bribeable (sp?) after the fact. :D
 
I’m way out of shape and overweight but have been going to the gym 3-4 days a week. The problem is I’ve had this awful shoulder/neck strain or something more serious since April last year. I’m using prescribed pain meds, have done PT, a cervical specialist, Xrays, and nothing is working. I’m actually getting worse by the day and now my hip and back are effected.

I can barely move at times and sitting at work or getting out of bed in the morning hurts the worst. I fell on ice at work last April as well as this year, I fell and this time hit my head on a running board of a truck. I’m not sure where to go from here but hopefully work comp approves an MRI and they find out what’s wrong because I’m miserable.

One good thing about being hospitalized and awaiting surgery: I haven’t eaten anything since Friday lunch. I’m sure the pounds are dropping quickly lol!

I would definitely suggest giving some beginner yoga a try. I use SaraBeth yoga on YouTube and think she does a great job describing the poses. Lots of options too, in case you are having issues with certain areas.
 
Played 18 instead of 9 since we could ride, but leg day at the end of the day suuucks. Didn't even have to trick her to get her though, so that's nice. Lol
 
Another 1.5 pounds down with added muscle mass! I got my run in today including sprinting up and down a large hill with my daughter. Then I got home and wanted to relax and one of the kids accidentally let our siberian husky out so I got an additional hour of jogging through the woods after her. I need a break from my weekend. ?

Nice work! Always good when you can get cardio in while having fun with the kids! Then some more cardio because of the kids ?
