Texas A&M - Alabama is going to be must-see TV this season: Jimbo Fisher is absolutely lighting up Nick Saban at a press conference this morning. Saban made some comments about how A&M basically paid for their recruits through NIL, and Jimbo is responding in a rather pointed way.

Saban wasn’t wrong, and Jimbo knows it.

Both of them seem to be sh***y, annoying people

Trust me when I say, Saban knew exactly what he was doing, what he was saying and why he was saying it. He set the trap and Jimbo (and maybe others) walked right into it.

Jimbo is a POS. Was at FSU and is at A&M. Not a Saban fan but respect him immensely.

In other news, can't wait for the Marcus Freeman era at ND to get into full swing against tOSU!

Poor Nick Saban. Going to be pretty hard to compete with only the 2nd best recruiting class in the nation.

Players have been getting paid for years, just legal now.

But nothing remotely close to the current fiasco. And, to Saban's point, it is not legal to pay (induce) recruits to a particular university.

Under current NCAA rules, NIL does not mean pay-for-play, meaning boosters cannot legally agree to pay money for a certain recruit/transfer to commit to a school for money or a guaranteed NIL deal. That's why, under a new ruling, schools with boosters that have communicated with players before their commitment would be sanctioned.

This rule is being ignored because teams like A&M do not believe the NCAA will or can enforce it. That does not mean they have not broken rules.

The ethics train rapidly derailed for many programs out there. Was not at all the intent for NIL.

Boosters setting up non-profit foundations to funnel NIL payments to players and recruits is setting up a lot of very rich people for some scrutiny.

If the NCAA doesn't come in with a heavy hand to gain control back, they will forfeit their little remaining credibility.

Anyone that thought NIL would not create pay for play was either dumb or naive. I called it before it was ever approved that this would happen.

In other news, Brent Venables is SUCH a breath of fresh air.

The hypocrisy from Saban is the rub for me. We know they were giving cars, multiple reports came out, ex players now on twitter saying they were paid. He is mad now that he can't get an unfair advantage. Also he had to bring Miami into it..smh

They need help to get a team into the playoffs so it is a good plan. Next is to make sure one of their teams can go undefeated all the way to the end.

Going to be a fun way to kick off the season!

You honestly think Saban has needed to induce players to come to Alabama? That's internet fairy tale stuff.

Go Orange! Syracuse season ticket holder here. Looking for Sean Tucker to be in the Heisman discussion.
