Now look at psu and Indiana wins/schedule
They played in a conference vs tougher competition imo. ND being an independent hurts them in my eyes (which means absolutely nothing šŸ˜Ž)

Would it be fair too say that ND has the worst loss of any team in the playoffs?
Thatā€™s fair, but it also happened at beginning of season and as weā€™ve seen in years past those early losses tend to not have as much weight as late season losses (even though they should be weighed the same).

I think they handled ND properly. They didn't throw them into the 5 seed, which I thought they would do. After that embarrassing loss early in the year, that team played with no safety net because another L they had no chance.
I think this helped them. That loss comes later in the season do you think it keeps them out? I donā€™t but it should

Strength of schedule would not say the same thing for ND vs Indiana

ND SOS is better than 4 other playoff teams (including IU). 4th best overall strength of record. ND has 7 wins over .500 or better teams (IU 3, penn 2, texas 3).

Penn State gets the ponies. 12-team playoff is wild.

The ND/IU game should have a decent amount of fan fair. Both fairly close to each other

Which is flawed because by that standard university of Houston should be in over Indiana bc their sos is higher

Swap them and Iā€™ll argue ND is a 3-4 loss team and Indiana is undefeated

IU yes but they are still low

Clemson, could you please beat Texas so ASU doesnā€™t have to face them? šŸ¤£
I would rather face Texas than Clemson at this point.

ND played 2 service academies that are likely over rated vs major 4 competition. Those kids deserve all the love in the world but if we are talking strength of schedule those games aren't really it.

Game lines:

ND -8.5
Penn -8
Texas -10.5
Ohio -7

If you listen to the chairman really it sounds like strength of schedule doesnā€™t matter as much now. I see some serious scheduling changes coming if that remains. Teams are gonna not schedule certain games anymore. If itā€™s simply about winning games why schedule tough? ESPN pointed out something interesting as well. The committee said they wouldnā€™t drop anyone badly yet they punished UNLV pretty bad for losing the MWC. Yet SMU you did not. So we go back to consistency here. I think first things first you need to throw out auto bids. I think weā€™re gonna see how big of a mistake those are when we see some seeds get walloped by a much better team thatā€™s a seed it shouldnā€™t be.

Yeah the criteria changes yearly, if not weekly. Itā€™s a joke.

I know the NCAA loves brackets. Wouldn't mind seeing them re-seed like the NFL after round 1. But let's see how this all plays out.
I would be OK with that,

But I still like the conference champions getting the bye. Itā€™s far away the most objective ranking we have.

For example, if you just look at the numbers, the ACC has a better head-to-head record against the Big Ten this year, with all middling programs playing each other. (3-2). The ACC also has a better winning percentage against all power conference opponents then the Big Ten.

I donā€™t think many people would say the ACC is better than the Big Ten this year, but when looking at those numbers that would be the case.

Tennessee taking this whole thing. But also liking the Georgia bracket

So Tennessee / GA for the trophy game

Use the same criteria to get in.... build brackets and first round byes on the rankings not on 4 conference championships

I donā€™t think he likes Penn st lol

I could be wrong but I get the feeling weā€™ll be seeing changes this off season when Clemson gets crushed by Texas, SMU gets smoked by PSU, etc. This is stupid that TN/Ohio State and Oregon could play each other next round but someone gets a next second round against Boise.

My seats for Fiesta Bowl are on Boise St side.

Go Broncos!

There it is

They should reseed it after first round. Feels like Oregon got screwed and would have been better off losing yesterday.
