Cobra always feels like they are almost recklessly at the forefront of innovation. I envision walking into their headquarters only to see it has been overrun by mad scientists. Think about it. These guys have been 3D printing putters for years now, and then decided they might as well 3D print some irons too. Their […]

@Scooby45 is gonna read this at least 5 times today

The King Tec standard iron looks exceptional and maybe the best in its class. I see the scoring irons don’t have the tungsten but the fast faced clubs scare me a little in that area.

Question for anyone that would have a real answer:

I look at the specs and the length is always 37.25 on the 7 iron. That is 0.25 inches longer than most manufacturers. Is there a specific reason for this?

Only one so far….

A local shop jumped the gun it appears by a day and had them out last night for demo. The few cuts I took were pretty sweet. They look awesome in hand.

Man those look really really good. Was always one of my favorite irons that I aspired to play when my game advanced. Looking forward to THPers thoughts as I’m certain these will be a hot commodity!

Great job with the write up @Hawk

The look awesome, and sounds like some cool additions to the new line up!

The combo FTx/FT I have from MC23 are still in playing and still performing great!!

I know a lot of the 2024 Morgan Cup guys were hoping these were going to be available for us to choose, but it was exciting to see these get announced during our Cobra presentation. These irons are very appealing to many as they have a lot of tech built into a very nice package!

@Scooby45 i'm jealous you have already gotten some swings in with these.

Yes! Here we go! This is a start for a great year of Cobra equipment!

If the King Tec series would've been available to us, I think many would have chosen them. Or at least gave them a real run out.

I will absolutely go hit these against my King Tours as soon as they're available to do so.

It helps the local shop knows I am a cobra fan. I only stopped in for some club repair yesterday ( CC: @Nerdy ) And my guy there made sure to point them out as they had just set them out to be prepared today. 😍

Been waiting for these! These look fantastic in hand. Cobra did a great job improving on these from the previous version. Looks wise they flow really well with the rest of the King line in my opinion. I was fortunate to take a few swings albeit in a sim but the feel/sound was improved upon from the previous version and let me tell you from what I saw they launch and the players distance moniker is spot on.

With what you have known and seen, what do you expect the differences to be?

These look really really good. I look forward to maybe finding someplace local to demo (I say maybe since we don't have a lot of golf shops). Regardless - they look super and I would love to give them a try.

And @Hawk another great writeup - thank you.

There’s actually a few sets out there that have that length 7i, I know the Ai300 are that way. It’s just a set to set design decision.

I thought it was a typo the first time I read it.
It makes TOTAL sense to me now after getting to hit the 7i in both sets a while back. The X, to me, just got the ball up SO fast, it was crazy impressive.

JPX925's as well.

I watched @jdtox in the tech studio murder the FTX 7 iron repeatedly. Huge distance

I got to hit both models at Ballyhack a while back and even though we were on their elevated range, the ball flight stood out immediately.

Granted I’ve not played King Tec’s since the OG version, but the sound/feel is sooooo much better. Not to mention, holy bajeeeeeesus they’re long.

This is the set that has my eye. They look great from pretty much every angle that I've seen and the feedback on height and distance is exactly what I like to hear.

Been waiting to see if these were coming. @Jman irons are officially #1 on my replacement ranking now.

I've always enjoyed the looked of the Forged Tec lineup, and this newest addition only furthers that thought.
