2024 Cobra King Tec, King Tec-X, and King Tec-X One Length Irons

My 5 iron arrived. Here are a few pics comparing it to the LIMIT3D 5 iron. They confirm what others have said, which is that the Tec X are not some huge, bulky package. You can see a little ”junk in the trunk” when set up to the ball, but it is not at all offputting. The main question for me with this Tec X 5 iron is whether it will fill the gap I need a little better than the LIMIT3D. I am hitting my LIMIT3D 6 iron about 186 yards and the LIMIT3D 5 about 194 yards. Can I get more like 198 or 200 out of the Tec X? We will see.

Can’t wait to hear how it works.

Veerrrryyyy curious here to hear about your differences. I'm in a similar spot with my King tours but between my 4i and a hybrid. if I can get a little more out of the Tec X, that might be a possible option for me too if I go King Tec for the MC.

The LIMIT3D generate a lot of ball speed for me. I strengthened the LIMIT3D 5 iron one degree, which put it at 23*. I ordered the Tec X one degree weak, which put it to 22*. I would think that the Tec X has enough face flex and other tec that it should be as efficient in generating ball speed as the LIMIT3D. If it is, or even slightly better and with that bit stronger loft, I am hoping it puts me where I need to be.

When do you think you'll get a chance to try it out? I'm feeling impatient 😂

The proximity in size is impressive

Thanks for the pictures comparing the limited with the Tec X, not too many differences the Tec X is such a good looking club. Can't wait to hear how the Tec X works out for you and if it slots in where you want it. Play well.

I felt my age yesterday. Had ten minutes in the store to take some cuts so I got right to it without a warm up. Not a smart idea in terms of really understanding them but man, they look good behind the ball and in hand.

Yea, rushing when you're old is sometimes a bad scenario lol.

What has your experience been with hollow body irons in the past? Do you like that type of iron in general?

Been playing and enjoying them for four years now.

I thought so. I just think it's a great way to build an iron, and the technology has improved so much. It feels to me like the King Tec line is really the end result of so much effort into making the best possible hollow body. Looks, feel, performance are all there.

The biggest differences in the setup position are the offset and the top line. The sole of the Tec X is quite a bit wider. However, my main point is that it is not as though you look at the Tec X and go, “this is a shovel.” Cobra did a great job at designing the head.

I thought when you look close the old Forged Tec X had shovel aspects. I see none of that with the King Tec X

To be fair, the back of the head sticks out a little in address, but it is a 5 iron. With the loft weakened by one degree, the offset is reduced a tad, too. I don’t know if that difference would even be noticeable. I am super impressed, though.

Valid feedback, I think it comes down a little to how individuals define size. One man's shovel is another's sleek beauty. Either way, Cobra did a really good job with these.

This is what I tell myself people. The club is supposed to look better than you. 😜

My single 8i is out for delivery today. I will probably get to look at it and maybe take a few quick swings but holiday week is busy and with SkyTrak issues data will have to wait anyways
I went through a big range of emotions reading this. :ROFLMAO:

I need some feedback on KT!!

Went back through the whole thread again and I'm seeing a good number of Tec X orders which is awesome.

But dang... I was really hoping to see some KT sets in here and be able to read some feedback. I'd do it myself if I had the funds right now. LOL
Unless I missed it I only saw @jdtox and @CBaker with single club orders for KT. I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts on the 8i jdtox.
I have the entire set of KTs. Got them right before I left for thanksgiving. Will provide feedback once I get them out.

I did get to hit a few balls with the 6 iron at the shop and it felt really, really good.

Great comparison pics. From a pure aesthetics standpoint King Tecs blend so nicely with the existing lines.

I don't have time to take any swings those will have to wait till I get back from the holiday travel. However I did open the box and grab a few quick pics.

After the initial shock of seeing a steel shaft in the head I started to compare to my CB's. To my surprise at address you really don't see a whole lot of difference which I'm super pumped about. From the bottom you see a little more width on the sole out toward the toe and a little different shaping.

Still having not had these in hand, I am more and more blown away with each comparison photo. These appear so much more compact than what I anticipated they would. They look so good, too.

I was pretty surprised seeing it next to the CB. Its a little bigger but not a whole lot.

I was too when I was in the shop and they had the 2 right next to each other. You can see a little bit on the long irons but not nearly what you mind thinks it should see.

Even some of the pictures don’t really do it justice. I was shocked at how compact they look in hand.
