The celebration of twenty years of Diamana continues, with Mitsubishi Golf unveiling the second part to the all-new version of the legendary lineup. It makes sense that the brand came with the WB (White Board) first, as it has long been the first design people think of when they hear “Diamana”, but as soon as […]

The original Blue Board was one of my first after market shafts I ever bought when it was brand new.
Excited for the next generation and looking forward to giving it a try.

Tipped it (with adapter), trimmed it and gripped it this weekend and ready for it's first action this afternoon.

Great review James! It is certainly a stunning shaft that performs well in your hands. Looking forward to getting mine out to see how it works in a lighter and softer version in the hands out someone with a 20+ mph less swing speed.

So good looking! And such an iconic shaft!

Great writeup, sounds like one I would get along with. The 43X kind of caught my eye as something I'd be curious to try

It’s July 1st and I’m excited to see the updated version of the blueboard. This should a good number of players. Great design on this one.

What a great-looking and iconic shaft. I'm so happy it is coming back.

Thanks for the write-up @Jman

Man I loved the blue board. Sounds like with the tech upgrades this is going to be a really great shaft. Slightly disappointed that the shaft itself isn't blue though.

I actually think the blue was more iconic than the white.

Yep. It’s an exciting time for Mitsubishi imo.

And thank you for taking the time to read it my guy!

The BB was and has been more present visually to most, being a standard offering in many different clubs over 20 years, but the WB set the standard for a low/low shaft when it released, proving such a profile could exist and not be void of all feel.

Diamana, as a whole, is iconic.

1000% agree on the last statement. The blue was basically in every fairway wood on tour for a few years. lol.

I also @agree with @jdtox that I wis the shaft was blue.. and the white silver..

But that’s been done, for ages. To celebrate 20 years AND to differentiate, something needed to actually be different visually.

Plus, the matte lets the logo and return of the flower band pop in ways the color and ion color finishes didn’t imo.

I love the matte look, love the flower band. I just think something a little better could have been done other than change the background oval. That being said its all cosmetics and personal preference. None of that matters when it comes to performace.

Sure it is, but it’s worth discussing.

They HAD to differentiate for the 6th gen and 20th anniversary, and all the other generations have been either the color of the shaft profile, or silver, so do they release a new shaft that people visually confuse for the older versions? Or do something different? The logo and flower band being back HAS To be there as it’s the nod to 20, so where would they go?

Plus, a nice touch is it’s a look that will look good in ANY of these crazy looking driver heads we have out now, even the limited edition ones. I respect that.

I can understand that as well.

I don't hate it, I like the matte black better than the silver of the past, like I said personal preference. I guess if its meant to be a throwback it makes more sense but its not like they haven't had the blue oval before.

It is meant to be a throwback, and that’s where the flower band coming back combined with the logo makes it happen.

I think many here underestimate the nostalgia that flower band has. This lets it pop.

All have the new BB in hand as well, and will be doing a full forum testing on it in this thread for the next many weeks!

yes, this is all I was saying. It looks great. I just think they could have left it blue and changed it in a way to be updated.

I've pretty much always been a blue profile guy and the weight/flex options would be really interesting to test out properly to see which would fit best.

Great write-up and it's awesome that THPers get to put these into play!

How though? A blue board that looks like the past 4/5 blue boards isn’t exactly good for the new version marketing wise. Golfers not crazy on a forum like us, so 90% out there, can’t differentiate and would simply go with the cheaper one as opposed to the higher performance and more technologically advanced one.

Thank you for reading the review my guy!

We went super heavy on the detail both tech and performance! 🔥
