I guess now is as good of a time as any.

We've got a ways to go, and my bitterness towards the whole sport is growing but here we are.

Baylor is playing at the USA representative at the world university games this summer. Of course we have 4 international players who are ineligible (one is playing for Germany)

With the transfer portal, I have no idea who is playing where.

Syracuse is in the Players Era Men's Championship in Vegas around Thanksgiving. That field is nuts. Should be a cool way to start the year.

I haven’t been this excited for the start of a new season in a long time.

Same.

Fresh off a final four run, entire roster except 1 player is new with some highly touted high school kids and some impressive transfers. Hoping the gel this summer and are ready for fall.

Badger men's basketball played above my expectations last year. Way above. Lost a couple key pieces from last season, but the emergence of John Blackwell was massive. Adding a European this year who is currently playing, and playing well, at the U20 worlds, could be exciting. Badgers haven't had much luck by way of international players, so tempering my expectations there.

Some young guys will have to step up, and have to hope our transfers hit well again. John Tonje was a monster last year.

Bill needs to hang it up. This is a few times now. Stress can’t be good for him. He really don’t need to accomplish anymore.

Should talk to Jay Wright. Bill would surely get a TV gig.

I agree. I get it's hard to move on but he'd definitely find something to keep involved in the game.

I’ve come to really like the guy. But he’s really pushing his luck.

I'm guessing auburn just started classes so the players can't transfer. 😬

Possibly lol. There has been a lot of chatter he wasn't gonna be the coach this year since last season ended.

I heard this back in April, and the plan for years was for Steven Pearl to take over when Bruce retired. Love me some Bruce, and appreciate everything he has done for the program. He will continue to be an ambassador for Auburn and will be involved with the program. As much as I hate to see Bruce retire, I am stoked to see what Steven can do. He has a brilliant mind for basketball, and might be more emotional in coaching than his Dad.

With that said, transfer window is open for our roster. That sucks.

We’ve had good luck with Auburn transfers. 🤔

From what I have heard, the team meeting went well and practice yesterday was great for Stevens first practice as Head Coach (timing?). Also, our roster is paid very very well, and Bruce made sure that wasnt an issue with all of his fundraising.

I’m sure they made every preparation for it. I’d be surprised if the big names waiver. But there are Robert Wrights out there.

Steven Pearl has done every interview since the Final Four, and has been the lead recruiter since that time as well. Bruce retiring isnt a surprise to most, and I believe he wanted to go out with that Final Four run and Coaching, in his own words, "The best team he's every Coached." The timing was right for Steven to take over, the players love him, and it's been the plan for a while, which is why it's a multi-year deal.

However, Money talks. Lol.

@War Eagle knows things.

A lot of schools reached out, but Hall was rd recruited 100% by Steven Pearl and was never a chance to leave.

Tahaad had all the options to leave, but his Family loves the Pearls as well, and Bruce will still be heavily involved with the program.

Both of those guys staying is big for Steven’s first year as a head coach.

This is one of those 'too good to be true' stories, right?
