We haven’t been able to develop or recruit a strong O Line for a few years now. Drives me crazy.Which is absurd given what they had at WR and brought in for TE. O-line sh** the bed so badly when it mattered most.
Took a historic 2 year run to get there too.
I appreciate the background but like anything i am sure there is more to this story or the overall drama I just read with your post. I am not saying it's false, but I've seen this story so many times and usually the truth is somewhere in the middle. He cried on tv during a post game sideline interview saying how much he loves his boys (teammates)
He practiced all week then on Friday night before the next game (after agreeing to go to Indiana) claims he’s too sick to play when really he was protecting his deal with Indiana. He spends that game walking the sideline in a hoody smiling and twirling a football on a finger.
Changes his mind and agrees to return for to Cal. As part of the return to Cal decision he is heavily involved in selecting the next OC.
Calls the 5* QB the night before signing day and tells JKS this is his team and to stay away.
JKS surprises everyone and signs with Oregon.
After his handpicked OC is hired and after he drives the 5* recruit away THEN he reverses course again and leaves for Indiana.
Gets to Indiana, spent too so much time F’ing over Cal that he now gets less money from the Hoosiers than originally promised. He’s unhappy and tries to come back to Cal. Wilcox and team decide No, not after he F’d them over as he did. Mendoza stays at Indiana for less money.
If he simply said “I got my degree and I’m moving on” everyone in Berkeley would have been fine. But he affirmatily acted in a way designed to harm the program.
He is not a good dude. He is fake, manipulative, destructive and dishonest.
This move obviously worked out great for him. He got the Hesiman, has a great chance to win a Natty and may be the #1 NFL pick. None of that changes what he did or who he is.
I think this is spot on. I think Miami can run the ball against them. The question is how do they stop Indiana’s offense, which is approaching six sigma levels of efficiency. The db isn't an issue they have depth. Messidor is an issue. Need to pressure medonza a lot. Miami struggled against him last year at Cal as well but the dc then was terrible.
Also can Indiana stop Miami run game? Their dline is a bit undersized and Oregon had success running the ball early but had to throw when they kept spotting Indiana points.
I don't think Miami has enough to beat Indiana but I'll still be rooting for them canes.
I think you start by stopping the run then hoping your DBs can win battles. Mendoza has been insanely accurate and his WRs have been making great catches, so it’s a pick your poison situation. Mendoza is like all other QBs…he can get frazzled with contact and pressure. Their OL has been superb at giving him time. So basically that all adds up to the D front 7 needs to win at the LOS all game long. That’s a tough ask.I think this is spot on. I think Miami can run the ball against them. Cross posting this here and the hockey thread. Southern college hockey is popping and there is a pretty big tournament showcase thingy right now. So Alabama and A&M fans can try for another championship @outlawx and @War Eagle can actually cheer for a winner!
After beating San Francisco to win the NFC and advance to the Super Bowl against Buffalo and their Red Gun offense, Bill Parcells said 3 words to his Offensive Coordinator, Ron Earnhardt: “Shorten the game.”I think this is spot on. Sayin didn’t help imhoWhich is absurd given what they had at WR and brought in for TE. O-line sh** the bed so badly when it mattered most.
I think there needs to be pressure to disrupt timing. If Miami relies on the DBs alone Indiana will put up 40. Quite frankly, some of those throws against Oregon were indefensible.I think you start by stopping the run then hoping your DBs can win battles. Why?No, he really isn’t. He is fake as F, insecure, a quitter and a liar. I cannot bring myself to root for an injury but let’s just say if he happened to suffer a torn ACL or labrum or rotator cuff, or maybe just had a really bad concussion in an unfortunate bus accident, well…I might open a bottle of something.
espn may already have it listed as Co national champs.I'm happy for Alabama fans. They don't even have to change their wardrobe to get on the Indiana bandwagon.
Nope. Should have recognized it and checked out of it as well.Sayin didn’t help imho

I guess this has been whispered through coaching circles during the season
Hadn't heard any of that before. He cried on tv during a post game sideline interview saying how much he loves his boys (teammates)
