2025 Bag Boy Championship Travel and Extra Rounds

@cmon man responding to your question from the other thread. The last round probably won't end until 1-2ish depending on pace of play. Dont think you would make that 1:35 flight
 
Seeing how things play out, I will either drive up Saturday or Sunday morning.

I picked a 4:30pm flight out of ROA. I assume that will be enough time if we finish golf around 1-2pm.

It should be, but it might be cutting it close. @lambeau and I were one of the first to leave because we both had long drives in front of us. After lunch, a shower and good byes, I think we both hit the road around 3:30. The airport is about 15 minutes from Ballyhack and you'll have to return your rental (maybe?), check in and get through security.
 
And I just checked a time stamp on a photo I took on the 18th hole. It was 1:33pm and we weren't the last group.

Should be enough of us driving that nobody needs a rental. Even with Roanoke not being a huge airport it’s still going to be a tight window.

Yeah might be right but I don't think Roanoke is crazy busy. Agreed on the driving thing I'm driving up and have a 4 door truck I can grab whoever is needed.

Keep in mind the airport can be as much as 30 away. They typically say allow for 25 minutes to and fro.

4:30 is doable, although the person might have to skip lunch. Depends on how fast as a group we are, and historically speaking we know the answer to that.
With that said, if making a flight or finishing is the top priority, someone could certainly skip the last couple of holes and we will make sure they are in the first group if need be.

I think in most scenarios, latest done is around 2pm. If its slower than that, they probably should leave anyway haha.
Head back in after settling up with caddie. Shower, say goodbyes and hit the road.

Thanks for the info. So based off this new info maybe a later flight would be better. There’s a 6pm flight I can take Tuesday night but only gives me 36 minutes to transfer to my connecting flight… or based off some of the other feedback stay Tuesday night in Roanoke near the airport and leave early Wednesday morning
 
We need to start working on a head count for those playing the Sunday round at Ashley Plantation. I don't think they will allow booking more than a month in advance but I know a couple people so there is a chance I can get it done early. I will figure out tee times once we have an idea of how many people are planning to come. This is totally open to any THP member that wants to come and not just for those of us heading to The BagBoy Championship. I am going to work on a list in this post and update as people let me know and we will close it out in a week or so and I will see about making tee times.

@bigbov, @oumagic and I stayed an extra night and grabbed dinner rather than rush out. I forget where we stayed but it was pretty convenient for the airport. They can chime in on what hotel it was.

Pretty sure I just called a couple weeks out and they let me book a couple tee times early. I will be interested to know what @Jeff Spicoli gets on the Par 6 this time now that he has played it previously. Going to need scores posted please.

Definitely was the move. Left Ballyhack and went to hotel then dinner downtown. I hate rushing out. We stayed @ Comfort Inn Roanoke Civic Center. As I type this I see @oumagic has posted link above.

Yeah. We got 9 holes of bonus golf. Relax exit and our dinner was amazing. And for me I would have got home at 2am and instead got home at like 11am. Totally worth sticking around and getting out at crack of dawn.
