2025 bag changes.

With Monday brining 2025 AC signups got me to thinking. What are you looking to change in your bag for 2025.

For me 2025 will see new irons in the bag. Or at least I’ll be on the hunt to replace my 2020 models. Front runners currently are of course next gen Cobra Forge Tec or possibly T150s.

The addition of a 5 hybrid is a high possibility. Either another TSR2 or the new GT after release. As is the addition of an Odyssey putter. Front runner being Jailbird mini. May wait to see new releases however.
 
There's some Cobra stuff coming that will get a loooooong look from me. My current wedges will be replaced as soon as the new ones hit. My actual makeup is set but the irons and wedges will likely change.

And the actual bag. Some new bags will definitely be in the mix.

OH AND BALLS. Highly likely changing balls. New ProV1x are always a possibility, but there's a couple others.

Another year, another look to see if anything can pry my copper Forged Tec irons out of the bag….
 
'19 PM grind 58* wedge will need replacing as it's getting well worn. :( Would like another Full Face, Hi Toe type wedge, not in chrome. TM or Cleveland maybe, unless Cally has oone in the works.
Still trying to to find the 200yrd club as well. Battle between Smoke Heavenwood, Super Hybrid and Apex UW.
May reshaft PXG irons w/ Prolaunch Bue 80g A flex, replacing MMT 60.
No other changes needed.
 
Right now? Absolutely nothing.

I would like to try the new Tour AD GC at some point.

And I'm sure I'll add another putter at some point but that doesn't count.

I'm more interested in their [redacteds] that come after these next [redacteds]. Lots of good stuff on the way.
 
I'll give everything in the bag a look. I don't need a driver. The AI Smoke is putting up great numbers. I can survive with my irons but my wedges really need some work. Putter is all me. I will add a 5w over the super hybrid and UT to make room for another wedge
 
I’m putting the ping s56 back in the bag. Or at least a few of them. I’m waiting on ferrules to get here before I re-shaft the 4-pw with mmt 105tx. Depending on how I’m swinging I think I’m going to blend the ping short irons with the cobra’s I’ve been playing this year. With the loft differences right now I’m thinking I’m going to have 2 7 irons in the bag next year.

Ping s56 7-PW

On Friday I was hitting both sets 7 & PW. The ping 7i goes 15 yards shorter but gets 1500 rpm more spin. The forged tecs are awesome irons but they don’t spin.
 
Have a fresh set of wedge heads coming, will also give the new Titleist irons that come out a spot in the bag. Will probably get a few rounds with each of the new drivers released as well, all for “research for work”…
 
I have been a one set of clubs at a time golfer, but that will likely change for 2025. I am looking to add a more forgiving iron set. I like playing forged cb irons — feel, spin, distance control -- but want to test the forgiveness equation. I will start looking generally at clubs like the new apex performance line, ZXi5/4, P770/790, i530/G???, JPX line, etc. I never really know what clubs I will like until I hit them, and that process should keep me occupied this winter. Odds are the lofts on those will motivate me to rethink my wedges, but that will be a secondary ponder once I get another set of irons in hand.

New irons, and probably at least one new wedge.

I'm also likely to get a driver fitting as well with my swing changes and improvement. Whether that means a change of head or shaft or stay as is not sure. Really happy with the Ai Smoke Max and could happily live with it. My 3w, 7w and 3h are fine and I'll have spent enough based on everything above.

You can rip my Bettinardi from my cold dead hands - not changing that.

Thanks. I really like my current setups but there's some cool feature, material, and colorway stuff happening in '25. It'll probably take me my usual 4 or 5 buys to settle on a couple. 😆

New Driver (Maybe)
New Wedges mine are 3-4 years old
Maybe a new 3w to replace the 3h I never use
 
Next year is a driver year. I usually buy prior year models. I’ve tried several already. ano real favorites yet but some really good choices out there.
 
I'm probably going to get rid of the 2I that I've never used once and replace it with a Lob Wedge.

Also I have a Takomo 2I for sale lol

Actually, I know I lied. I kinda want to get a WedgeWorks 60 to experiment with other grinds at some point.
