2025 Better You Fitness and Pumping Iron

Anyone else get super sore on day two after lifting? Went relatively hard Wednesday night and started to really feel it this morning 😅
Two days afterwards is the worst for me - if I do not take the time to stretch properly before bed in the [multiple] evenings after my workout, I am completely bungled.
 
3 mile run in 18:03, jeez I’m out of shape, that used to be my daily 10-13 mile pace. Also lots of core today, no weights… yet

DOMS - Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. It is real and it IS NOT spectacular. Eat your protein, take your nsaids, keep moving. Get off the nsaids when you can handle it.

If I ran that, I’d feel like I’d be in the best shape of my life 😂

Had my weighted calve raises on Thursday - struggled walking on Friday, was basically crippled on Saturday. Every time I got up from a chair I would walk high-heeled for 5-10 steps before i could extend my legs so I had to force myself to go on a walk. Did 11,000 steps and then came home and stretched deeply and went to bed and was almost better yesterday. Rough go though holy...
 
I hit the gym today early with my wife and just got in from a bike workout. My gym sessions and some added stretching has given me back some distance off the tee that has been missing for two years. It gives me hope that I might be able to get my ball speed back to 158-160mph where it was 15 years ago.

Get STRONG. Jason Zuback is one of the most successful long drive competitors in history. He bench pressed 405 for 3, squatted over 700, deadlifted 680lbs, could clean and jerk 364lbs, and rep out 120lb dumbbells on the seated shoulder press.

Good day. Squats and bench added a pound. Baby steps.
 
Squats tonight.

Single and then 3x5 back off sets.
 
Deck of Legs last night. Draw a card do that # of reps. Hearts = squats, Diamonds = weighted situps, Spades = Lunges, Clubs = Box Jumps, Jokers & promo cards = 400m run.
After a 3 round warmup, put a weight that you can handle up to 10 reps of back squats & have at it. I didn't count the # or cards I pulled but I think I did everything 5 times.
 
Worked shoulders last night and damn I am feeling it this morning.

This morning will be a focus on abs and getting a 4 mile run in.
 
Pull day this morning. Cracked a couple new numbers.
 
I got my local TPI guy to setup my workouts. Was agame changer!

I know it will. I just thought I held onto it a little better than I did. It's alright. Just another excuse to get back in there.
