When we talk about Callaway Golf’s Apex lineup, most minds go immediately to irons, and rightfully so. However, for a select group of us out there, it is the Apex UW which has emotional hold in their minds, and golf bags. The Apex UW has always had an interesting reaction from golfers, in fact, you […]

Ive been really wanting to try the original one that Ive read so much about. I can't hit FWs, am ok with hybrids, UW might be a good fit.

I said in the GD thread that this is one of the ones I was really looking forward to if it came out. Strong chance it makes it's way to my bag!

There she is. Pretty sure @Mikey D fell in love w/ this club in Nebraska.

Nice write-up @Jman . I have an OG 17° UW still in my bag and it is probably the last club I would replace.

This is a club I haven’t seen yet. Pretty interesting.
The Speed Wave seems like a cool addition and paired with the step sole could be a game changer for people like me that struggle to sometimes get the ball high enough in the air at times with the longer sticks.

The 2 OG's I have in my bag aren't coming out any time soon but it's great to see Callaway improve on it this time around.

Wow!!! Just wow! A new UW is here and it is packed with some tech!!! With the inclusion of the Speed Wave, this one could easily find its way into the bag!!!

Great write up @Jman

Did I miss the loft on this one?

It absolutely could be a game changer as those two features in the Elyte FW’s did it for me in that part of the bag. Has me wanting this one STAT!

I’ve never been a fan of hybrids but always loved woods. This could be that nice little go between that sets me up for success!

The Paradym SH has been a staple in my bag. I wonder if this could be a replacement and add some yardage over that club and not gap to close to my 3w. 🤷‍♂️

That I did. I’ve been waiting since June to talk about it. This was the club you were hearing me say “holy sh!t” pretty much every time I hit it.

I don’t know everything about the tech involved, but what I do know is the club was going straight and long and even the misses would be useable. Such a fun club to hit.

Definitely want to hit it some more.

Yessir... I remember your face on that range vividly. Looked like a kid on Christmas w/ new toy. I regret not hitting it myself but I was too enamored w/ the Copper AI300's.

Same boat here. Would love to lock my 4h out of the bag for something that can still get through rough but feels more like a wood

This is exciting. Will be testing this for sure. I have been contemplating the top of my bag and this needs a strong look.

Dang, I’m betting the 23* is going to be a unicorn. Love the OG 21*

I'm w/ you... kicked hybrid out a long time ago and now I have a 7W. Has been much better for me. This UW sounds like lots of fun there.

My OG 21° is going NOWHERE but man this makes me want to try the new one as a potential 5W replacement

the big question for me is the shaft selection. I'd want a 90g+ shaft in the 23° and there aren't many of those around anymore. Curious to see what Callaway offers as a custom order in that weight range.

Quick flip through the list looks like 85 is tops.

I love the inclusion of the tungsten speed wave on this. It’s the best tech in the fairways. This is also a great looking club, improved in that department over the 24 model.

I have issues with the 24 model fading on me, so don’t know that this is a club I need to go after. Who knows. Maybe hit it with lead tape on the heel, to give it a change for slight draw bias?

I do like that a 21 degree is available now for lefties. That’s a better loft than the 19 for where it could slot into the bag.

Love a new iteration of the UW. The current model is such a great club in my bag, and im excited this one continues the family of UW's.

This looks a lot more like the Apex UW 2 than whatever they released in 2023 was. That was disappointing. Glad Callawy returned to the shape that made that one so good in the turf. It really made me giggle when they cited the OG UW in the design of the Elyte FW's and I was like why did they abandon it in the second UW?
