2025 Callaway Apex UW

I was going to stop after the 299 and was like I needed to try that again… then again….
Hard to stop when you’re hitting howitzers!!!!

I have a dilema. This is my 5UW vs my 3 wood. 3 wood is red, 5UW is purple.

Do I get a 17° UW to replace the 3 wood?

I’m tempted to order one of these in 23 degrees. Compete with the 5 iron and I still have a UT iron at 20 degrees in case I need it
I went with 23 UW in place of my 5i. In the sim, it was going too far. On the course, it’s slotting in very nicely. Easy high launch and happy I decided to go that route.

That’s why we play outside! Weather has me bothered at the moment but about a month from now I’ll pick up pace a great deal

So I have a 17 right now which I hit about 230. I also have a 7w which is my club right below that I hit around 190.

Do you folks think a 21 or 23 would be suited to fill that gap?

I have a 23UW and a 21 7W. They are a little too close to each other. It sounds weird, but I would probably have some better gapping with a 21UW and 21 7W. Definitely worth some testing to see where you land.

what's the gap with your other clubs?

My 21* UW so far is showing to be a club that will slot into the 205-215ish range on good strikes. Now that of course is indoors, in a garage and on MLM2 Pro. Could be a different story outside, but that is the yardage I am expecting out of it if not maybe even a little bit more.

Like @BriMac said if you can get out and hit both that would be the safest bet.

I would go 19 or 21 and I would lean 19°

It’s….. evolving. But the consistent ones is my driver (250 yards), 17 uw (230) and 7w (190)
I like the UW at 21* since you already hit the 17* well. I think the 19* would be too close and 23* could be too large of a gap.

At Drive Shack today. 8 and 6 Iron, 5H, and then 21⁰ UW... sooo easy. Then change out DShacks low Tee with mine and hit Shortened Driver. This is gonna be a fun year once Course dries out.
This is the year I'll find out if gapping troubles but 17 and 21⁰ UWs will stay no matter what.

I am tempted to get a 19° and 23°. My theory is, you can never have too many golf clubs :ROFLMAO:

This has my mind pondering that these UW are low spin? Or just hit better than fairways?

I think the 21° would fit nicely for you in that gap!

What UW are people finding is most akin to a 5W for distance?

Don't have any data to back this up, but I would say the 19°

Thanks. I was leaning the same way but worry that the low spin bombs people hit with these could lead to the 19 being a bit long and the 21 a bit short.

5W maybe the better option as my longest "approach" club in the bag for the extra height and spin maybe.

I just realized you can’t even select 21 from Callaway website. Are they completely out of stock?

I haven't been looking at spin - will keep an eye on that. For me, the 23 UW has a more piercing shot shape. The 7W is height and descent. Similar overall distances for me.

I've seen plenty in the local PGASS and Golf Galaxy. More 21's than the others, I would say.
