2025 Callaway Apex UW

When I hit this in the sim, I hear this “whoosh” sound. Hard to describe. Reminds me of the noise with a hard swing of a whiffle ball bat. I like it. Not sure if it’s imagined or real as I haven’t seen others comment on this.
Sort of the Sound when U swing your Light Saber?

Hello! Looking for some advice on the top end of my bag. Currently using a 11.5 mini driver, longest iron is a 5. Tried hybrids but never hit them well due to the closed face when looking down, just didn't make sense to me. 5 Wood very inconsistent because I'm still very new to the game. Undecided if I should go 21 or 23 degree UW and maybe later grab a 17 or 19?
My last iron is my 5i and I have the 21* UW and it is a perfect next step club for me

5i - 205y
21* - 220y
5w - 240y

The UW has also shown the ability to stretch to that 230 if conditions are right. Cant speak enough to the versatility of it

This club is quickly becoming my favorite in the bag. The sound/feel combo is outstanding, it is so easy to hit and the numbers I am seeing are perfect for what I am looking for.

Anyone drop a 2021 for a 2025? Curious what you saw.

I did not play the 21 but I know the sole design has been improved taking influence from the raved about step sole in the Elyte and Quantum woods.

Flies so straight to. Such a perfect club when I need a little more than a hybrid and am struggling to hit fairway woods.

I really only hit fairway woods off perfect lies, so the ability to hit this in the rough like a hybrids helps a ton too.

Has probably already been discussed in the group. I like to play hybrid and also had a UW OG but it was stolen.
At the moment I have a hard time playing 3w.
The question is whether a 17 degree UW could replace a 3w?

It absolutely can

I would imagine you would seen an improvement in ball speed and spin retention across the face of the 25 version and with the resdesigned sole, better turf interaction.

I never had an issue with the 21 model for turf interaction--it's more of a statement on how well done the 25 version is.

I would never say yes across the board because everyone is different, but it could be for some.

If I didn’t like my 3W so much I would 100% consider it.

I received my 21 UW last week and it has been a blast to hit. I'm quite a bit shorter than you but similar gapping

Overall very happy with it, I love the flight compared to my 7w. I love the sound of the ball coming off the face. Excited to try this out of rough, that's where I am most of the time

I'm very curious about the new UW.I play quite a lot of hybrids these days as I hit them well.Would you say that a 19 degree UW would go further than a 19 degree hybrid?I'm playing today with a Cobra tec that is very hot in the hit.It goes very low and far.I also tried a 17 grsders but didn't go further than 19.That's why my idea is to get a 17 UW to replace my 3w. And then loft the Cobra hybrid a little instead.Or get a 21 degree UW.What do you experts think?

Did the 17 and 19 have the same shaft in them?

Definitely worth testing. I am finding my 23*UW is getting similar overall distance to my 21*7W. The UW has a more piercing flight with roll, and the 7W has more height with descent. Club and player dependent but I could see you ending up with different distances between the same lofted clubs.

A bit shorter, but the same yardage gap is what I am seeing with my 5i to UW as well. Just money.

I think it’s definitely the characteristics intended. What I think it would come down to is determined by preference as to what you want in ball flight.

3w 15, 19' hybrid and then 5 iron Cobra Tour
I currently go 3w, 19º UW, 21º hybrid, 5 iron.

I'm willing to bet the UW goes a bit farther than the hybrid you have, but it still might work.

You hit the 19* UW. What are your carry distances of your 3w, hybrid, 5 and the 19* UW?

The Apex UW is quickly becoming my favorite club in the bag to swing. And that is saying something considering I’ve got a TD Max at the top slot. It is easy to launch, very predictable and consistent with carry distances, and the sound/feel combo is out of this world.

I bought the 2026 23 UW and it goes the same distance as my 21 7W as someone mentioned above. Trying to figure out a shaft combo/length to slow this thing down because I really wanna put it in the bag... lol
