Getting a really nice 215 carry today with the 20 degree UT off the tee. I didn't pay attention to roll out in the sim. I feel fully confident on tight dog legs that I can find my target off tee.

I've honestly just been afraid of UTs, never really tried one - that's about to change. Everything on paper would say it is a good club for me, but there is still some skepticism in my mind over whether I would be able to play a 2 iron well.Always here to help
You have to accept that it isn't a traditional 2-iron. After that just go hit one - you'll be surprised and I would like to think ordering one shortly afterwards.
Why the 2 iron? Does it "need" to be 18 degrees? I'm playing a 20 degree and it launches pretty easy even off the deck as a 4i replacement
My 20 is bent to 19, launch is great, and carries about 205.
My biggest surpise is how well I hit this off the deck. I had a 1 iron last season and it was so hard to launch. It went forever but wasn't really useful off deck
I wouldn't say it "needs" to be 18 degrees, but I want to have a low screamer to get away from the wind and just get into the fairway on days the woods are behaving. 20* could certainly be an option. I will need to look at both most likely
I had an 18 and a 20 last season. When I made the switch to the newer model I tried both in my fitting and only wanted to have one club. That ended up being the 18.
My criteria was 95%+ off the tee usage, looking for maximum distance fairway finder, and an ability to flight one down under the wind rather than using my mini or my 5w.
Had I wanted to be 50:50 on tee and fairway then I might have been in the 20.
I can play the UT higher but I am hitting the 60 feet window carrying 200 yards pretty regularly. Hard to judge runout just because monitors and all conditions play such a huge part
Makes sense. And that’s my current bag setup too. Mini and 5w and I think the 18° makes more sense there than 20° but if I hit 20° better or it gives me more confidence I’d do it
The 20 could also fill in the 4iron spot really well on standard shots
I take back my choice for most interesting person. You sir, are the most interesting person. I’ve never met someone that played a 1 iron!

I might have to bend my 22* a degree strong. So far I hit it fairly close to the same carry distance as my ai 150 5 iron. To be fair I have not been hitting it nearly as well as I do the 5 iron

I am shocked I am writing this, but the 18* UT might be replacing my UW. I have been using it a lot off the tee and it’s been so good for me. I’m seeing a very neutral, straight ball flight. I have been very accurate with it and cannot say how impressed with it. It’s a huge improvement over the previous model.

The neutral flight I am seeing has been key as well. Its very workable in either direction as well
Its cold out and I gotta go to work. Wanted to get a couple of swings in since I've been working on timing and sequencing. This was the club of choice. The flight is strong and the club is easy to use. Its making a great 4 iron replacement in my bag. I talk about having another option if this goes wrong, but I'm confident that it will hold its spot. Its better off the tee than the 3 wood (might as well knock down driver)
Todays musing with this club: short on time but wanted to get a swing or two in. Pretty easy to elevate from a launch perspective. Ball flight is really neutral

Agreed here. I am playing the 18* and it's easy to elevate. It is also easier to work both ways than the UW is for me.
I’m going to start trying to play a cut with the 20 just to see how hard it is for ME to do

I hit a controlled draw with the UT last time out from the turf and hitting a draw that doesn't go waaaay left with a longer club is the hardest shot for me.
Same here. Once it starts the over draw I can’t control it. Want the fade option.

I think I have found a really strong combo with the UST Recoil Proto and this head. It is an ideal ball flight for this club.
