2025 Callaway Utility Series – Apex UT

Got the 18* pulled up on the website. No trigger pull yet.

Might have to be good and wait for some feedback.

See my feedback above from my fitting earlier in the week.

I'll be posting some more as soon as I can but I have tweaked my back and currently resting it - my 2025 Apex UT 18 degree is here, still in the wrapper and ready to get used.

I promised myself last season was the end of the utility irons for me but with the lofts up to 24 degrees I can see a real scenario as a 4 or 5 iron for my upcoming bag.

Got one of these beauties in 20 degrees. I had an open spot. No reason to not take the chance. I tested the club strictly off the deck while passing a kidney stone. This was when I started to have less pain 🤣

Ventus black 9-Tx is what I tested and what I went with. So easy to elevate and keep low.

Maybe the most difficult shot to pull off was with this club this week. Deep fairway bunker off the tee (drove thru the fairway because driver wasn’t missing)

Needed distance to keep up with the brute I was playing. Took the 20 degree UT in the bunker so I didn’t starfish the face of the redacted. Perfect strike from a level sand lie and the prettiest highest draw that went around 220 yards to the fairway for a short pitch into the par 5. I’m gonna have fun learning the lofted Utility

Knew you'd love it, and knew that combination of head and shaft was going to be a beast !

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it when you get back home, and of course all about the new-new.

Edit: On the new-new - when of course the embargo is lifted..... not when you get home.

I’m gonna get it some sim time on Sunday I do believe.

How would you compare hitting the UT vs a long iron?

Higher launch. More ball speed depending on the actual long iron design. The largest difference is likely appearance.

Most long irons especially in the game
Improvement irons have large offset.

I get more spin from long irons

I have an Apex Ai 200 4i in the bag now, but am intrigued with the UT. Nothing wrong with the Ai 200, just something to try.

I would bet they are similar. I’ll snap a pic for the thread vs the 250 5 iron when I get home.

Part of me wants wants to go UW and UT in the bag. Still figuring out the details there. @4hourrule made me realize a UW 100% should be in there. Seeing the UT photos during the GD thread mercy lol.

The UW is definitely staying in the bag--it's such a versatile club. The UT just sounds fun.

I need to try these again. I only hit the 18º head at the very end of my fitting because my bag was full and I had time for a few more swings. The 18º head is certainly not for me, but I do think a 22º could be lots of fun to mess around with.

Hit a couple of absolute excellent shots with this today one off the tea one off the deck. Sound on a well struck shot is a very equivalent to a blade. Obviously if you miss it, it sounds different. Let’s golf.

I needed a 200 yard layup on a par five in this weather. I wasn’t sure if I could even get the 20° utility there. Got 215 out of it for a much easier approach for a pitch and putt using a Callaway Supersoft

Most irons in the past, I’ve had been 1° flat. I’m not sure why obviously with no use this utility doesn’t want to turn over as much. I haven’t studied my angles or anything of that nature to come to a conclusion as to why two strikes don’t turn over as hard. I’ll definitely monitor this as the year goes on and see what happens.

Hopefully get some monitor time with it this week

This thing is an absolute missle launcher!

This is such a beautiful club in person! I’m happy to hear your loving it already.

It really feel like it will allow me to go after the ball and it not over turn to the left. I will accept the right miss.

Thought for sure I would have had mine by now, got the call late last week that Callaway is out of the shaft and not sure when they will be back in stock. Really sucks but I will be patient and wait, if it’s not here by spring then I’ll either change my order or cancel

I hit a few of these today just waking the body up. Its the perfect 4 iron replacement for my setup at 20 degrees. Its not hard to launch and doesn't require massive effort. I'm happy I went with this club as a "gap filler"

I am going to learn how to hit the "Tiger stinger" with this club. I just needs to happen for my hot, scorched summers

Love the satin look. The back of the club isn’t as bulky as I thought it would be. The first time really seeing the club was at a fitting. It’s not oversized so it blends we with my Ti Fusion 250 5 iron.

How is this comparing in distance from the club it’s replacing from your previous bag?

I had a hybrid in this spot. Nothing it’s going to run out longer from early use. I’m using it as a 4 iron but really because I’m too dumb to hit 3w from the tee.

I expect this club to be used on shorter tight holes off tee
