2025 Cobra KING TEC and KING TEC ONE Hybrids

Oh man, can't wait to hear about it. Is it there yet, is it there yet? šŸ˜€
I know, I was going to head to the field tomorrow but now it’s definitely an office day so I’m there when it arrives

Well, I thought I was getting this delivered to the office but it was waiting g on the step when I got home. Only had time to open the box get the clubs out to the shop then headed to hockey. Still at the rink. First impression was it’s not nearly as small as I was expecting based on some of the comments. My buddy has my c723 hybrids or I would post a comparison pics those are noticeably smaller. My x2 hot hybrid from a few years back is also smaller. I’ll post a pic beside that one when I get home tonight. I’m pretty sure I’ll order the 19* before the courses open but will give the 7 wood some sim/launch monitor time before relegating it to the spare bag

Here are a couple of pics next to the x2 hot pro 20*. Definitely a size difference with the king tec being bigger. After hitting a bit on the sim I am pretty sure I will just go ahead and order the 19*. I really like this and the mmt 80X feels pretty good. Launch is high but flight is a little more right to left than I like. I will throw the heavy weight in the toe and test there for a bit. Feel is really good, first pic is of the whole DS family. This pic is zoomed out a bit and may show the size difference a little better. When I hit the ds adapt 19* the size didn’t bother me but now having the king tec I’m thinking it’s size will be a bit big visually for me. I will be ordering the 3 to go with my 5. I don’t think the 7 wood is going to stick long term. Going to give it a shot on the course before definitely saying it’s not for me IMG_0338.jpeg

So is the King Tec the larger on right?

Yep, it’s bigger than I was expecting based on all the comments. Really is a good size

That's what I was hoping for. Love my Callaway UW size and wanted a 25⁰ with my slower Swing

They are NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT UW size.

The ONE version is bigger, but still not there either.

Whoops, just saw its the X2H pro. Got it.

Still, that is one of the smaller hybrids that was put out.

These TEC's (non ONE) are NOT large hybrids.

Oh, I understand. Just didn't want a tiny Hybrid.

To clarify the reason I have been so emphatic about the size conversation in here since my release article went up, I am fearful too many who played the previous versions will just jump in thinking its just V3. This is NOT V3.

Honestly, IMO, the ADAPT is V3. This is a total shift in what they want the TEC hybrids to be, and where they want them to fit within the lineup.

Are they the smallest? No. No one said that.

Are they smaller than most on the market (the trend)? Absolutely.

They will be the second smallest hybrid release in 2025. Only the TEE C, which has been the smallest for three cycles now, will be smaller.

Is 21 and 23 release same size?

Sorry, meant years of King Tec. šŸ˜ž
Hahaha, I got ya now! So many numbers in all these releases, I thought that way.

Size in the 23 was similar to the 21 in overall CC, but it was shorter heel to toe and they removed what was essentially onset that the 21 had.

These, are MUCH smaller than both of those.

TEC and TEC ONE

Thankyou. Was hoping PGA had one to view.
I believe @hedley_lamarr08 will have one in his bag for me to check out at BagBoy Event.
Edit. I see @Strhas one too, awesome

I’m definitely not saying they are large compared to the average out there but I don’t think they are intimidatingly small either. I wish I had my Tee C723 hybrids on hand to compare. It’s a very nice profile size wise which shouldn’t scare people away solely based on size. Very limited time with it but I really like it. So much so I’m ordering a second one asap

It’s a profile that is not at all aimed at the masses. It’s a true players profile for the confident ball striker. This one is not about forgiveness and playability as much as it’s about precision and shot making.

The C is smaller, but, it’s also the smallest profile out there.

These are WAY smaller than the trend, and to most golfers, they will be on the intimidating side. My goal here is making sure people know these are not V3 of the old Tec hybrids, these are new, they are compact, and they are different.

The Adapt is the one which most will be more familiar with size wise.

For the MC I officially went with 3H and 5H for the bag.

3H at 19 to slot above 3W and use as a tee AND turf club, 5H as a 4i/utility replacement.

Can't wait to hear more about this I'm looking at possibly the five hybrid

That absolutely beauty of a size profile on this thing, paired with FF33, will be incredible. Cannot wait to get it in hand and see where i land on the FF33 matrix for where I want my flight to be. I'm thinking this one might end up in G3 for me with -2* of loft for how I typically play this, which I'll be playing a 4h cut down to just over 4i length, and then pushing the loft down to 20* at least to start with. That's pretty much where I have my current Darkspeed 4hy sitting, and it works really well...but it's bonded so I don't have that adjustability to fine tune. I may actually end up in F3 to help close the face a little and sit more upright, but that will need some range and course time to ultimately land on. Also extremely curious how this Tensei black 1k hybrid shaft will be for me that I picked up to test against the MMT.

I currently play the Darkspeed 17 degree and love it especially off the tee and when I tested it last year against the 23 King Tec the Darkspeed was much lower spin, lower launch and produced faster ball speeds, so with the new King Tec being much more compact while the DS adapt is a little larger how would you compare them in terms of spin, launch and peak height as well as forgiveness, as always your pics of both these new hybrids were superb so I am very keen to test them but unfortunately there are very few golf stores within 50 miles of my new home.
