Hotel is booked!
https://www.sonesta.com/sonesta-ess...township/sonesta-essential-atlantic-city-west i think maybe only @SkiBumGolfer might need a room Sat night also. @PiratePenguin has this link also since he and i are riding from the airport together.
Is this where everyone is staying? If the whole crew is gonna be there I'm more than willing to pony up so we can all have a good pre Experience hangout night without me having to bounce to drive a ways to my folks.Booked as well.
78 days
myself and @PiratePenguin are staying her sat night. I believe it is just us as @yoose is set and @bsbmike is coming in Sunday unless that has changed. Is this where everyone is staying? Also haven't forgotten about the list of course options, just been busy. Hoping to drop that in here shortly for the crew to consider
I am down for wherever and I agree it is a getaway let’s play somewhere cool. Let’s get @Deebo76 in here as I know there are some other people coming they might have some input also!Ok, so courses to play pre Experience. Sticking to within half hour from Hidden, in order of proximity (closest first). I'm also skipping the more muni level places, because come on, this is a getaway! Let me know if anyone has suggestions I haven't covered though!
-Ballamor: Tree lined former private club, always in great shape. Supposedly fairly forgiving off the tee and big greens, but lots of break and heavily defended by bunkers. Can't find the summer rates but in early March they want $75 for a weekend morning if that tells you anything.
-Twisted Dune: Less trees than Ballamor but a lot more sand. Also big fairways and greens, but lots of sand, dunes and fescue if you miss them - not too many trees though. A little cheaper than Ballamor - $59 for a weekend morning right now.
-Harbor Pines: Similar to Ballamor, tree lined but more water and less sand. On paper easier, but it's also shorter. Also seems kinda expensive in comparison - $88 for a weekend morning right now.
-Emerald Links: Links style track with holes modeled off famous holes in Scotland and Ireland. Seems a bit gimmicky but could be fun and gets good reviews. $75 weekend morning in March
-Seaview Hotel - Two courses here - The Bay, where they have the ShopRite LPGA every year which is shorter and links style, and The Pines which is longer and tree lined. Looks to be right in the same $70-80 price range right now.
Do we want something similar to Hidden Creek or do we want something completely different in style to mix things up?Ok, so courses to play pre Experience. Personally I lean towards something different, but curious others' thoughts. Also, given the options available I see little reason to venture too far from Hidden Creek since Ballamor and Twisted Dune are literally right there, unless we can't get on one of those for some reason.Do we want something similar to Hidden Creek or do we want something completely different in style to mix things up?
I probably get in too late for a Sat aft round.Personally I lean towards something different, but curious others' thoughts. Also, is anybody going to be around in time for a potential Saturday afternoon round, or are we just talking Sunday morning? My thought would be if we're just playing one course (i.e. Sunday morning only), we go Twisted Dune since it's pretty different to Hidden. If anyone is talking Saturday as well, we add in Ballamor.
All of the courses suggested by @SkiBumGolfer are perfect and in short driving distance to Hidden Creek. The only course that could be difficult for tee times is Ballamore as they have gone semi-private in a group with Scotland Run and Atlantic City Country Club.I am down for wherever and I agree it is a getaway let’s play somewhere cool. Let’s get @Deebo76 in here as I know there are some other people coming they might have some input also!
I think best we could do would MAYBE be get in 9 holes, but that would be a big stretch and probably not worth the stress after a long travel day, too.I probably get in too late for a Sat aft round.
Perfect and that course sounds like some fun for sure! All of the courses suggested by @SkiBumGolfer are perfect and in short driving distance to Hidden Creek. I am playing Twisted Dunes next Saturday. I can provide feedback on the course conditions after my round albeit being pretty early in the golf season for Jersey. The course is always a good challenge with its sand dunes.
Ya I am leaving my house at 3:45am that day so I’m down to chill to prepare for our amazing event!I think best we could do would MAYBE be get in 9 holes, but that would be a big stretch and probably not worth the stress after a long travel day, too.
I'm game for different style of course.
Thanks for the weigh in man. I knew SR and ACCC were harder to get on now but it looked like Ballamor still had public tee times showing on their website. Definitely a watch item though. Do you know is there any way to get on ACCC these days short of being a guest of a member? I've always wanted to play it and was a little bummed that they appear to have locked it down somewhat. All of the courses suggested by @SkiBumGolfer are perfect and in short driving distance to Hidden Creek. Yeah you have to know a member to get on ACC, its the only course in the Ottinger group that they insist on Non-Public tee times. Thanks for the weigh in man. I have wanted to play Twisted for several years and was watching with jealousy when the Titleist crew played there last year. Definitely let us know how it's playing! It always looks great and appears to be a relative bargain for the area with the conditions and what some of the other courses in the area charge.
Let's do it i am in for Sunday morning!Twisted Dunes was in pretty good shape for early in the season. I did not play overly well but its always a challenging and different style of course for us Jersey cats. I do see it getting better as the year comes a long and will be in perfect shape for you guys as a pre-round. It also does not hurt that its 7 minutes from Hidden Creek.
We can start booking online 21 days in advance to the desired tee time. If we can get a firm number of players say a month before we play Twisted Dunes, I will book the tee times. Let me know!

A potential 24/25 Team Tudor party...Caught the tag in other thread.. popping in here to follow. This could work.

I'm technically both, I guess. Last year was supposed to be Tudor, who couldn't make it, so wound up being Team Brennan, and this year Tudor is back but Brennan is on the other side! My loyalties are divided! Ha. Great people, either way!Well, ****. Now I feel I need to fully commit to get some Team Brennan representation. Can't let you guys have all the fun.
I played Twisted Dune after the Bag Boy Championship last year. Fun course.
