Srixon Golf has settled nicely into a biennial release schedule for their new product lines, giving us all new gear to feast our eyes on every two years. The last iteration of the Z-STAR golf ball series was released in 2023, which means it’s time to see what’s coming next. This will be the 9th […]

Great info here @Hawk! Really liked the previous generation of Z-Star and XV in the Divides. Will have to add the new ones to the list of balls to try.

Great right up! Played tried the z-star for a while and liked it, it did hold greens well. Might try out the new version when I need to buy balls again.

$5 a dozen cheaper for a really good premium golf ball. I was hoping they had mentioned a manufacturer change that avoided a seem appearing on the ball after 3-4 holes

9th generation. That's kind of crazy. Cool night to get this out to people though after Hideki's big win!

Diamond and XV with get a long look again this year. Diamond might especially depending on which driver I'm playing. They're always good and performance for price is awesome.

Have always loved the Divide design. Best design in golf to see how your putts are rolling in my opinion. Just wish they offered it for all 3 models. Not having a Divide design for the diamond is a bummer.

Srixon was probably the first premium golf ball brand I fell in love with. I always really enjoy seeing and playing their balls. Great write up @Hawk

Great write up @Hawk. I have regularly played Srixon balls for several years. Glad to see the latest update on the Z-Star lineup. Looking forward to putting these in play this year.

Nice write up! I would have thought a softer core would increase in spin.

The Z Star XV has been my favorite ball the last two years. Looking forward to trying the new iteration!

No sir. The other way.
Firmer core means more speed and more spin. Softer core means less spin.
Its why for many higher spin players, the softer ball actually goes further.

Kind of crazy to me. I can’t argue though because the Z Star XV balls are by far the longest ball I’ve used and they feel very soft

Great writeup! Good to see this ball line evolve.

Great write up @Hawk.

I’d been a loyal Srixon golf ball player with the Z Star for probably the last 10+ years before making a switch late in the year in 2024. Now, after reading this, I feel compelled to give these a go.

Definitely gonna have to give these a try. Timely write-up after yesterdays win!

Already plan on playing a different ball this year, but I've been playing XV for years and I'm excited to try a new version. A little more spin on irons and around the green wouldn't hurt one bit.

Looking forward to giving the new versions a try once I run through my current stockpile of Zstars.

Thanks for reading everybody.

This ball sort of made me fall in love with the Z Star again. Not to say I hadn't always considered it one of my favorites, but I've really enjoyed the new version. Took it on the course last week and it performed really well for me tee to green. Lots of stopping power, even into the irons. Great with a wedge as you might expect. Feels great as always and you can't beat the color options or how Srixon executes them. Even the Pure White is probably my favorite white.

The sleeper here is the Diamond. I loved it during testing. Got more approach spin from it than anything else and it had tons of wedge spin too. Definitely feels a bit firmer than the Z.

XV just isn't the ball for me, but I have no doubt there will be many out there that do very well with it.

It’s a quality ball. I am not really interested in testing golf balls this season just because I’m happy. If I were to test, this is where I would start.

Have you had a chance to test them out yet? I know you've been sort of undecided on Diamond in the past (I'm not sure if that's the right word), but I was curious what you thought of it this time around.

Great article @Hawk , I have not played the Srixon golf balls in a long time, but I appreciate the breakdown for each golf ball. The advances with the Gradational core is interesting and wonder if others don't try to follow suit or maybe already have.

The last Srixon ball I played regularly was the ZStar Diamond, and honestly didn't like the feel through the bag. It sounds like this version is a lot softer without sacrificing the performance elements it needs to deliver. I'm looking forward to picking up a sleeve and comparing to my regular golf ball I normally play.

There are definitely some different approaches to core design. I think the gradational route is a really smart way to get the most out of a single ball.

it makes sense from a swing speed perspective. You can have varying swing speeds play the same ball and get max performance at the same time. Pretty genius when you stop to think about it.

You should try the Diamond too imo. I think you might like it better.

Love those divides! Can’t wait to try them!

Diamond looks like it could be a contender for 25. I hadn’t really paid attention to it but I like what I read.

Thanks for the write-up, @Hawk.
