I wasn't comparing anything today just using this ball exclusively during my practice/lesson. I am simply blown away by how good this ball feels and how fast it is. Yes it was indoors and not on course but according to GC Quad I hit ball speeds today I didn't know I was capable of.
Rumor has it the new mantle is fast.

I think I'll probably pick up a sleeve of the Chrome Soft this summer out of curiosity also. I feel pretty confident that the Chrome Tour is the ball for me, but I've always played pretty well with the Chrome Soft and I'm curious how it compares to the last version.
I let the guy I was playing with today hit a Chrome Tour X off the tee (not the one I was using) and he proceeded to shank it right into the water... I put too much hype on the ball for him. He had driven a ball 255 previously so I wanted to see him get more than that and it didn't end up well. Test: Failed.
My wife plays CT or CS. I wanted her to hit one of my CTTD off the tee but she didnt want to she was too nervous. So when I took our balls out of the hole one hole, I gave her my CTTD. She piped one down the middle with it on the next hole haha
Smart move man, takes all of the pressure off the shot and let her swing free. I didn't know the guy well enough to switch his tee ball, so I did the opposite and oversold it. Whoops.
It's good to be enthusiastic! You get the whole run down then get to see how great it performs for you.

How many from other brands are going to give the Chrome Tour lineup a serious chance this year?
I plant to again this year give them a go. I really like the performance of last years TD, but hated the cover. There was just not enough durability there. Looking forward to trying them again.
Just remember, the TD wasn’t updated. But for what it’s worth, I didn’t see much durability issue with TD last year when I tried it.
I am checking the weather daily hoping for some sort of change so I can get out and play this ball.
That ball is in great shape for that many shots. I hit plenty of stuff and never ever saw a big cut on any of the test balls. I thought they held us well.
