Which would be ridiculous and pretty ungrateful. I’m not gonna get into in depth but I had an experience where the fitter themselves actually didn’t think they had the ideal iron available (It wasn’t coming out then.) for me so they did what they could to best find one that could work for me. If someone can’t find a shaft and iron combination from countless options that works from what we’ve seen I don’t even know what to say to that.

when you receive something as part of an experience, you should spend some time post experience discussing it. My thoughts. And because some people couldn’t and didn’t or don’t, we now have rules in place that will make sure they can’t completely ruin it for others.
 
Okay, here's my plan. I live in Virginia so I don't have to fly to the event SO, I use that money I save by not flying to the event to book a ticket to fly out to Carlsbad and get fit at the Cobra Golf Performance Center. I get the perfect fit and end up with a bespoke bag that is gonna crush the competition at Ballyhack!

I'm liking this plan!

I just don't get not Posting about a Product. For me it's fun. I still Post about Products I got a year or two ago (luckily I haven't been banned 😀)
OK, back to Cobra and the Wonders of Ballyhack. 🤤

There is a pretty wide variety of no-upcharge shafts, including almost all of the KBS family and a lot of the DGs

The upcharge shafts are mostly Nippon.

Yeah i'd probably roll my eyes a bit if someone complained about lack of Nippon when the full DG or KBS offering was available.

I tried steel and KBS shafts in Cobra clubs last year, and that was my first experience with KBS iron shafts. I walked away impressed and still have the PGI graphite shafts in my DS Adapt Max, but also really enjoyed the steel shafts ($ Tapers) I tried for an extended test run before those, as well as a very smooth swinging steel shaft

Exactly - I’d argue there at least 1-2 STELLAR options that would work for most players.

I disagree only slightly in that it's also your job to review the product, so should have something that fits you. Now in this case....that really should not be a problem, as mentioned there is a TON of zero upcharge shafts , so everyone should be fine.

Some years ago in a previous life, i was a panel tester for a new driver. They asked for a 2 shafts you'd be willing to test it with....i responded with 2 very generic usually available shafts. When i got the driver it had the stock shaft in it in 50g stiff. At the time i had a 120mph swing speed and this was a high spin shaft. I barely could hit the club. When i asked them, their response was that they couldn't find the 2 shafts i'd asked for so just sent with the stock one. I wasn't "upset" at not getting a free club, i was more upset that i couldn't really review the club. I ended up reshafting it at my own expensive and doing it.

I wouldn’t disagree with that. I would say that’s a pretty unique case as well. I mean if you’re on a panel and it renders you essentially unable to hit the club, that’s tough lol.

I was just more speaking to someone being upset they can’t have Axioms or something when the set already retails near $2k USD

I’m a KBS ho and there’s always a bevy of options from them for no up charge. Works very well for me lol
