Looks awesome. My only tweak, if you can get on at Elie, DO IT. It was one of the most enjoyable rounds of golf I’ve ever played, and very close to the St Andrews area.
So much great golf to be had in Michigan, we haven't really planned anything out of state. The Boyne Courses, Grey Walls, Pohlcat, Bucks Run are all planned thus far. More to come.

Yes - that was on one of the versions of the itinerary, in place of St Andrew’s. Sounds amazing too. May happen.
It’s right down the road from Dumbarie, so maybe you could try for 36 that day?

Just returned from 5 glorious days at Pinehurst!

I sure would like to do a NC trip sometime. I have a real curiosity about the Pine Needles/Mid Pines/Southern Pines conglomerate.
Same. I have a friend who lives in NC who is a member of a club out there would be mine to visit and make the rounds in that area.
we're free agents over spring break this year after trips to Alabama and Myrtle Beach the last 2 years. it won't be a big full week trip this year, but might jump in the truck and drive south until we find open golf courses...
the highlight will be we're taking a family vacation for 2 weeks to Scotland mid-summer. couple days each in Edinburgh, Sterling, Oban, Isle of Skye, Inverness, Fife/St. Andrew's. still need to figure out how much and where we'll golf while we're there. want to hit some lower profile local courses, plus a couple "names." we're keeping a very flexible daily plan, so we will put in the St. Andrew's lottery for probably 4 days when we're in range.
and now every episode of the Internet Invitational resulted in my son saying, "I want to play this course so bad."
so i'm thinking maybe a long weekend trip in early fall to Big Cedar.

Pine needles was awesome, we were chasing the sun at twilight so rushed through the round a bit. Would love to go back and play the others as well.
Donald Ross's house sat off one of the tee boxes. Was very cool.
So far on the books are two trips:
June - Gaylord Michigan to play the Treetops Resort
August - Finland to play with a bunch of THPers. I’m going to head over to Norway after to play Lofoten Links.
And the usual several weekend trips to Arizona throughout the year.

I don't have exact dates yet but planning a Big Cedar trip to play Cliffhangers and Buffalo Ridge in the spring, PGA Frisco in the fall sometime, and another buddy trip mixed in there that we don't have a location for yet.

PGA frisco was cool. Went there spring of 24.
The championship course is a beast, didn't care much for hole 18 though.
Tied career low on the other course in windy conditions. So have fond memories of that place.
The putting green area is insane. Massive.
They also ask you 'what balls do you want" on the range. They sort them in to pro v's and all the other premium balls.
Awesome! I'm looking forward to that for sure. I've been the putting area once but didn't get to play the course.
Do not miss the par three course at Treetops. ( Threetops)
Its worth the trip on its own.
