2026 Golf Trips - Where are you going?

Nothing set in stone yet, but once per year, I take my son back near our old home in Alabama and play my home course there where we’re still out of area members. I usually make it up to Pinehurst once or twice per year to play, but nothing‘s ever really planned as far as that goes. I’m off work the week of Fourth of July, and at some point would love to start a yearly thing somewhere if I could get a group of guys that would be down for this.

Only trip we have planned now is a round trip into Utah, Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon Coast, NorCal, and somewhere near Los Angeles.

The trip is for visiting friends, and family, but Im sure there will plenty of golf involved.

It will take us 2 to 3 weeks to complete.

Nothing planned yet but we have been trying to fit Gearhart and Gamble Sands in for awhile. Now that there are two 18 hole course and the Quicksands course it might make more sense for the $$$. Summer we will hit a couple courses in the Philippines, and have to delay Scotland until 2027.

How was MB? I need to make it over there
Fantastic - especially True Blue and Caledonia. I really want another crack at both courses.

I will be going back to the Myrtle beach World Amateur in August/sept.

for Gearhart....just watch the weather and do a winter day trip.

It is a fine course. A fun course. And not worth anything near what they charge in summer....but lets find some sunny Saturday this winter, I will meet you over there. Right now they are down to about 85 bucks which is pretty close to the top end of what it is worth.

My group (22) just solidified plans for our annual trip and for 2026 we are doing Scottsdale.

Going to play somewhere in Vegas in February but haven’t decided what course yet. Then going to go watch the weekend rounds at Shinnecock for the US Open. Probably make a trip across the state line to Pine Dunes next fall once all 18 are completed as well.

April 26, going to the big island with my wife and possibly play Mauna Lani, celebrating our anniversary, leaving the golf open on Maui.

Sand Valley is one and I have a few others in Europe I intend on making work if a few things shortly Fall into place.

Strong chance a couple of coworkers and I make a last minute trip to Bandon in February. Depends on finding a 7-10 day weather window so we can sprint up there.

we're free agents over spring break this year after trips to Alabama and Myrtle Beach the last 2 years. it won't be a big full week trip this year, but might jump in the truck and drive south until we find open golf courses...

the highlight will be we're taking a family vacation for 2 weeks to Scotland mid-summer. couple days each in Edinburgh, Sterling, Oban, Isle of Skye, Inverness, Fife/St. Andrew's. still need to figure out how much and where we'll golf while we're there. want to hit some lower profile local courses, plus a couple "names." we're keeping a very flexible daily plan, so we will put in the St. Andrew's lottery for probably 4 days when we're in range.

and now every episode of the Internet Invitational resulted in my son saying, "I want to play this course so bad."
so i'm thinking maybe a long weekend trip in early fall to Big Cedar.
Late fall as in early November at Big Cedar is fantastic. Payne’s Valley price decreases dramatically. Still high but livable. Not sure however what effect the Internet Invitational may have on pricing.

My son and his buddies go a yearly trip. It is invitation only. A few of the dads get an invite to go a long. Last year was Grand Geneva. 2026 will be Fields Ranch East and West at the PGA in Frisco TX. Those plus some after dark rounds nightly on the par 3 course.

With money being saved with travel expenses maybe this will leave some time and finds to meetup with some THPers.

Found out this evening that a member I play with is planning a Pinehurst trip for a select few of us. Trip will be mid May. All I can say is Hell yes.

We went to Capitol Hill 3 or 4 years ago. It was an awesome trip. Stayed on the property in a huge rental home, and played soooo much golf!
