CONTEST 2026 Live Update Thread – Titleist Golf Ball Experience

The play is to aim for the front right. The front porch is fine for chipping.

Any pin other than back you can't get it close anyway. The green is basically a redan since it's downhill and slopes a bit away. Front pin you can't possibly put it close unless you are a tour player.

It plays about 195 to the front right. That is where you aim.

If it's a back pin you can get a bit frisky and try to carry the bunker.

It's a take par and run hole
Your description is accurate.

I could play that hole 100 times and I'm aiming for the right front corner every single time.

I'm beginning to think "no". Really photographs so well.

Group 2 finally has two balls in the fairway for the first time since hole two. We are doing some Titleist product seeding
We were certainly trying. Aaron was making it really difficult to lose one though

Everyone is playing so well with a day at HIdden under the belt from yesterday! Good to see.
It was definitely an advantage to have seen it once. It's a very playable course, but there are a few things that are good to know about

Brutal. Classic hole design!

Brutal. Classic hole design!

It's definitely a really tough hole. On some other courses i wouldn't like it, but at HC, since the course is generally forgiving, i think it fits in well.

But it's a very tough hole.

The green slopes somewhat front to back, and also right to left. So even if you bail out right, it's still a fast chip. If you miss into the right bunker it's a downhill bunker shot.

Front pins are murder. You can't get it close and most of them there is a lot of slope to deal with on the chip/putt

It's just a really tough hole.

Dude. You are doing an amazing job keeping up with everyone's questions and putting the answers in the thread. Mad respect and appreciation.
Any chance this comment entitles me to scratch and dent pricing on a H50 unit? LOL

I'm kidding

I've been, it's not. Lots of good alignment options though and even without it I can find some really great options that help me.
I spent some time on the site this afternoon, and I couldn't find it either. But I also found the site a bit confusing, hopefully they send us really simple instructions when we get to order ours

I know they’ll let you buy them. I realized that after I left smh
Only at certain properties. I asked every HC employee that I could find, stopped just short of begging but they will not sell them at HC.

Plenty of future experiences and I have no doubt there are THPers that will be more than happy to help a fellow THPer out.

Really like that alignment aid!
I like it a lot seeing it in person. I might not have considered it otherwise.

There may be some difficult decisions when it comes to ordering my six dozen

Seems to vary by course. I could not get one at Vic. I bought a Vic mug, but I really want one with just the flag.
I couldn't find a single ceramic mug in the pro shop on this trip. They had corksickle ones, but nothing ceramic. It was moderately disappointing.

I missed this live but I wonder how ball speed connects to height. My ball speed with a 7i is in the 105 mph range. I am not sure it is possible for me to hit it that high at my ball speed without bad mechanics.
Think of how an airplane wing works where air speed over the surface generates lift due to the design. Dimples on a golf ball reduce friction by reducing the surface area exposed to the wind, and the pressure difference between the front and back sides of the ball combined with spin generate lift. More speed means more lift. More lift means more height.

Speed is only one of the components, but it's a pretty important one.

Durability has been great. Kept one ball in play for probably 30 holes and I put it plenty of times into the trees and or the rough. I only took it because I finally had a piece of the cover that had some loose hanging on it
While Fish didn't come right out and say it, for the sake of sales I'm sure he'd rather we took more balls out of play than we do. But on the flip side of the coin if they didn't make them so darn durable we would have to

If you scroll down on the main ball page there are pictures specifically for Prov1 AIM Enhanced and ProV1 AIM Performance. You can slide them right or left to check the other models like AVX and Tour Soft as well.

By my fast and loose calculations you left HC around 5pm predicting 2am arrival. Rolled in @ 1:59am 539 minutes later to within <0.2% accuracy.

I can't honestly take any credit - artificial intelligence did all the heavy lifting. I was just along for the ride.

I actually left Hidden around 2:00, but I had a passenger and didn't want to endanger him by trying to post while driving and he was in the truck. After I dropped him off I had to stop at a post office to mail out a couple things related to the event, so by the time I finally realized that I hadn't posted the photo it was around 5:00 🤷‍♂️

Recap #2

The food- Wow! I can't say enough about the quality of the food. The first night was incredible with all of the pasta dishes and the meatballs. The large shrimp was the best I've ever had. The second night was so good. The tuna and veal were unreal. I am going to miss being able to eat that (as I'm sitting here eating my packed lunch 😫) The pizza came highly recommended from almost everyone that had visited Hidden Creek and it lived up to the hype. I also recommend the Poke Bowl if you get a chance, it was awesome.

The Titleist Team-

Michael, Charlie and Nick were so gracious with their time to answer every single question we had and actually cared about the conversations we had. Nick was an incredible fitter and made the process so simple and was very transparent of what he was looking for. Michael and Charlie's knowledge of every single thing golf ball related was truly incredible. No question was off limits and they really opened my eyes about the work that goes into their golf ball process. A huge thank you to those 3 for everything the last few days, it was really appreciated.

What a great group of guys, truly. I've met @Greg Kulbick and @Junkyard a few times in the past but hadn't met the other 3 and it was an instant good time. We had a ton of fun this week and made some great memories.

This was my first time at a Dormie property and it exceeded every expectation imaginable. The cottages were top notch and had just about everything you could imagine in them. The outside fire pit and inside you had the pool table and golden tee. What a great piece of property. Going to miss every second of the last few days. Again, thank you to everyone involved in putting this event on, it was truly special and I was lucky to be involved in it. Can't wait to do some more testing on the golf balls and add my feedback to the appropriate threads.

It was great hanging out with you. I feel like we hadn't had a TON of back and forth on the forums over the years, but meeting you in person and getting to spend a few rounds together, was really fun. I'm calling you if i'm ever in Columbus!

I was left of the left bunker on a patch of bare dirt with a tuft of grass behind the ball.
During yesterday's round I sliced mine left of the green in the whispy stuff that somehow turned out to be better than @Nashtyone's tee shot.

And I didn't even have to modify the lie, although the format would have permitted it.
