CONTEST 2026 Live Update Thread – Titleist Golf Ball Experience

I was on my phone, will try tomorrow or Friday on my laptop. I could find the logos and stuff, but couldn't find a tab or drop down where you could choose the alignment options. If I still can't find it I'll be in touch.
So from what I can tell they don't allow customization of the AIM alignment stuff. You just have to select that particular ball and their stock AIM selection by selecting balls then all balls then you can select the AIM options to purchase and customize there for the AIM Enhanced version. You cannot personalize the AIM Performance version (The longer single alignment line.)

They do have custom options where you can select from various alignment aids they have available using the Logo, then selecting "Alignment Aids" but when you do that you can only get that single option, and you do not get the AIM options.

For whatever reason, I was especially touched by this Experience and group of people. @Lord Tox and I looked at each other at one point on Monday afternoon and commented about how much fun we were having and how moments like that make it all worth it.

A few observations on the lucky six, in order of who I met first:

@Junkyard - classic THP'r that really speaks to why we do what we do. Loves the community, the gear, and the experience.

@Nashtyone - did you ever stop smiling? I don't think you did until you had to leave. Very fun guy to play golf with - Monday afternoon was a treat.

@MtlJeff - A man of fine tastes and a finer golf game 😂 You are funny as hell, Jeff. The ball flight on your tee shots is wild. Terrible putter. We lost, but it was a damn good time.

@OhioGolfer - You are one of those people I have to listen closely to, because funny crap is always coming out of your mouth. Slinging blades like a boss.

@Greg Kulbick - Still not sure how we hand't met before. You have impeccable taste in headwear, Greg. Also, I like that we hit our tee shots about the same distance. Wait, are we related?

@AnthonyC - another hilarious person that leans heavily into self deprecation like I do. The only difference is that you're actually pretty good at golf. Your irons sound different than mine. Must be the copper finish. Thanks for the Cigars and good vibes.
Thanks so much, man! It was a privelege to meet you, and to spend some time with you. I was really looking forward to meeting you.

Had no idea this was a thing and I love it

I am not sure if this got posted, but this article from Golf magazine yesterday certainly highlights the amount of tour play and success.

There is lots more interesting info in the article about which model balls from which year had the most wins. But here are the Cliff notes:

I actually asked them about the increased focus on balls from other vendors (Callaway, srixon) the last decade or so had led them to accept that their market share would invariably decrease just due to being unable to maintain that significant a position

They were very diplomatic, but essentially their answer was "no" lol

I wasn't aware their position on tour was still THAT dominant which they also pointed out to us.

I have to believe overall market share has declined a bit in last decade. But they still are overwhelmingly the best selling ball

That's confidence in everything you do. I was aware they dominated as well but had a similar perception that other OEMs might be catching up more. I am surely biased having never been a steady Titleist player.

@Hawk and @Lord Tox

Can we start a Titleist ball feedback thread so all of us can keep commenting on the balls themselves after this event?

I know someone asked about them working to get the tour guys into the latest generation balls so they don't have to keep producing prior year's versions.

During some of the casual conversation this did come up, and I got the impression that it was a bit of a sore spot for them, but at the end of the day they are going to give the tour players what they want. I think it was fish that was talking about it and he said that they rely on the conforming list a bit to "force" a player into a newer generation, because once the model year drops off the player has no choice but to update.

Let's face it: while Titleist would tell you that they're giving up something by using an older model ball they also know that golfers are somewhat superstitious especially when it comes to equipment. Their "spare no expense" philosophy for everything they do carries over to this as well; their #1 goal is to make sure the player is fully satisfied with the product they are using. If that means they're going to need to make a run of 2021 model balls for one or two guys, so be it.

At the Biltmore Championship ~70% of the field is using a Titleist ball.

Good question. We would prefer to keep all ball talk in the appropriate ball threads. Which for most of us is ProV1x haha.

What's kind of funny is that players who use other OEM's clubs still insist on using a Titleist ball. And those that don't are clearly giving up some performance.

That was me. In Feb of 2025 when we were doing the ball experience, they were saying Scottie was using the 2019 model ProV1 and they wanted him to at least go one newer generation so they didn't have to make them special for him (2025, 2023, 2021 and 2019 models are a lot to keep making).

The Golf article posted above does show that Scottie is in the 2021 model but Fitzy and Wyndham are still in the 2019 models:
Thus, this season, the PGA Tour’s winningest single golf ball was the 2019 Pro V1x. That ball was played by both Wyndham Clark and Matt Fitzpatrick, who each won three times.

That’s not out of the ordinary either as the winningest golf ball last season was the 2021 Pro V1, which Scottie Scheffler plays.

I believe I am quoting this correctly, but they said that a player must be using a Titleist ball in order to be able to display the Titleist logo anywhere on their equipment.

There was a funny comment made around the fire that when you walk into one of their facilities and see all of the photos of players who have won with their ball what stands out the most are all of the PING hats :ROFLMAO:

Do you know if we will be getting the 2026 or 2027 versions of the ball? If 2027 i will wait for the press release thread

I do not but I would assume 2026 since the 2027 ball has not been released

They seem to follow a 2-year release cycle, so I assume 2027 for sure.

So I started looking at options for my upcoming order. It looks like I'm going to need to negotiate some assistance because the logo I would order is only available on the US site. I'm sure there will be no shortage of volunteers to receive a shipment of 6 dozen Pro V1x's :ROFLMAO:

Send to me and then come play Turning Stone. Sounds like a no-brainer.

It would be a good excuse for me to need to drive to the Pinehurst area 🤷‍♂️ Fish himself said that golf balls are heavy and expensive to ship

Any chance this comment entitles me to scratch and dent pricing on a H50 unit? LOL

I'm kidding
You haven't bought one yet?

In theory, the guys at Titleist should probably help you out on the H50 for how well you did promoting their event :ROFLMAO: BUT, I would be more than happy to.

Send me a DM and I'll see what I can do for you.
