CONTEST 2026 Live Update Thread – Titleist Golf Ball Experience

You haven't bought one yet?

In theory, the guys at Titleist should probably help you out on the H50 for how well you did promoting their event :ROFLMAO: BUT, I would be more than happy to.

Send me a DM and I'll see what I can do for you.
Now that is some service!

@Lougle does a lot for the membership around here. I'm going to see how much I will actually use it before I take him up on his offer - I don't want to take away another THPer's good karma.

You're good. Just message me when you're ready.

Here is a closeup of the ball that @Nashtyone removed from play. The damage is very similar to a skin tag and there appears to be a small amount of grass stuck between the cover and the mantle

It would be a good excuse for me to need to drive to the Pinehurst area 🤷‍♂️ Fish himself said that golf balls are heavy and expensive to ship
Come on down! You are welcome here!

In order to get the golf balls to fit in my shadow box display I had to cut roughly 3/4" off the ball. I know there are photos all over the internet showing the core of the balls, but since I had all seven major models I thought having them all in one photo might be of interest to some here.

From left to right: V1x Left Dash, V1x, V1, AVX, Tour Soft, Trufeel and Velocity (looking at the Titleist website I have the TruFeel and Velocity swapped in my display :()

Several things I noticed while getting these ready: you can visibly see the difference in the cover between the premium three piece and the two piece balls. The premium balls just look to be higher quality. Also if you look at the Titleist script on the premium the printing is much finer than the others. You can also see in the photo that the two piece covers didn't finish out as cleanly - the edges appear to be ragged. All seven balls were cut by hand with a hacksaw. Out of the seven I would say the V1 required the least effort and the core shavings were the finest.

PVC pipe cutter for the win. Clean edges and they are only about $15.
Cool image though.

I didn't have one and I didn't want to wait until tomorrow to grab one. I'm also not sure I could have gotten a cut with it not being close to centre; I was able to get the saw blade to bite by holding my thumb beside where I wanted to cut.

Don't go buy one, just take all the balls to Home Depot, ACE or Lowes and "borrow" one. 😀

Full disclosure before I grabbed the hacksaw I was trying to remember if my compound mitre saw was in the garage or not. Doubtful I would still have ten fingers had I gone that route however

Wow... this is so cool. You can absolutely start to see the differences as we go down the line from premium to two-piece.

Shout out to @Junkyard, not only was he killing it with updates, pictures and answers to our questions but he also noticed a post I made the first day about a polo in the Pro Shop. He was kind enough to go through the trouble of grabbing one for me and getting it shipped my direction before crossing back across the border.

@Junkyard is pure class man

Also brought all of us some logo'd balls and memorabilia from his home course, which i scrambled to try and reciprocate lol....

On topic too, i can't wait to get my custom balls---probably will not take long.

I do still have a full box of the X at home that they gave us at the course.

That is such a good polo. So glad I picked it up as well. @Junkyard truly is the best

And here is the finished product; I just have to grab some proper hanging hardware and it will be on the wall:

Thank you to whoever suggested putting two photos in place of the wooden THP logo, I think it ties it together better
