2026 MLB Thread + Hot Stove Off Season

Ok. I can breathe now.

How am I supposed to go to sleep now?!

It was in fair territory. Would have been a homer.
Hit the roof, stays live, caught for an out.
Thought maybe it was hooking foul. What s game

Good game.

Sounds like the right ruling, but kind of surprised hitting the roof isn’t a dead ball. The side view showed that ball still going up, then clearly change trajectory downward and was caught on the warning track. Easily clears the fence without the roof. Nice play for Brewer guy to stay with it and catch it.

I was in sec 129 row 17. Ball was right above me. It was going foul imo but super high and I would have been very surprised to see it get out for a HR if it missed the cable.

@JB this is better. 15+ open seats. I don’t feel bad about it lol

The answer is yes although if without children I woul have said don’t do it.

I realize they sent you packing, which kind of sucks, considering they were empty

And thankfully for the Brewers they don’t have to play the 2nd best team in the league like the Rays do in the DS. It’s such a joke.

Liam interview was awesome.
Coming to the Rays he wasn't calling the game for the marlins, like a number of teams.
Drew said he didn't shake him off once in the post game presser.

Liam was hte steal of the trade deadline and we have multiple years left of control.

Yep, no kids and I wouldnt have attempted it. I get why we had to move, but it was a bummer seeing 20 seats sit empty at a huge game lol

I get that.
On the other hand, you won because of a dome. If you would’ve told me that a different team other than the Rays would have that, I would’ve called you a liar.

I know the answer is TV and Football, but why doesn't the AL play today???

That seems like a huge pitching rest gift to the Wildcard teams.

It’s funny, I was just on twitter and everyone naturally is losing their s*** lol and one play that came up where a ball hit a roof and then fell into fair play was a Rays v Red Sox game and the Sox ended up with a double was shown as how roofs have impacted games.

Still can’t believe it happened. Was weird seeing it live, and I am not fully convinced it wouldn’t have gone foul. Even France’s body language after he hit it suggests the same. I am convinced it wouldn’t have left the field of play, regardless of what Stat Cast metrics say.

What is really annoying to me at least is every Padres fan is suggesting they thoroughly outplayed the Brewers. Nearly identical hits, nearly identical runners left on base. Brewers also come back to the plate if it would have been a HR.

Stinks that it’s going to take a bit away from what was a great Game 1

That was a HR my man

Jus go out and no-no them tomorrow.

It felt that way, so I get it from their perspective. They got to Miz early with all those fouls. They put pressure on all game. Weird play in the 9th.

No pictures on the scoreboard!

It'll be interesting to see if the roof is closed this afternoon. Gorgeous day so would normally be open, but in the playoffs they might want the added noise with it closed.

OK, I have to ask because I don’t understand it. All you Wisconsin fans, all talk about the elements being part of the game, and loving that the Packers play outside, etc.. then with the weather just fine it appeared, you closed the dome

The whole thing is confusing for people who don’t live there

Interesting how so many folks think that was a HR for sure. Statcast says no 49* launch ball hit at 105 has ever been a HR. Also says only park it may have been a HR is Houston. Watching Chourio, he was already camping in front of the track before it hit the roof, he obviously didn't think it was going out. I was sitting right there, I didn't think it was going out. No one around us (even Padres fans) thought it was going out, most thought it would be foul. But yeah, HR for sure. 🫤

baseball vs football in part.

i like going to outside football even in cold, snow, etc., but the idea that Packers players have an advantage in the cold is a myth.
it hurts everyone's performance.

on the other side, there's no way i want to be cold at a baseball game. and with 81 home games, that roof has saved the team a lot of ticket sales and reschedules over the last 20+ years. if i remember right, the general rule for the roof is somewhere around 60* or less and they close it, or if there's rain, etc. and they can't close the roof mid-inning, unless there is an imminent weather threat. they can decide pre-game on roof status regardless of weather.

Divine Roof Intervention is a better story though!

But I thought 50 degree is shorts weather. What is happening @LeftyGolferWI

Roof closed and the opposition can’t complain about the dreaded shadows in the afternoon.

This was funny

True, but if they can rule fan interference for reaching over a wall, then why can’t they rule Stadium Manager interference for reaching out with a roof structure?😂

I mean I wore shorts Friday golfing with @lambeau and it was 48 at tee time. MLB makes the roof call. Fwiw there was a steady reason we walked back to the car in
