EXPERIENCE 2026 Shaft Up #1 with UST Mamiya

Totally get it.

I think thats the beauty of the Powercore though - it takes what you give it. In swings where I try to muscle it, it responds very well and gives me the extra omph I'm trying to get. But in other times where I'm trying to be a bit more conservative, it still puts me in a really good position most of the time. The responsiveness of the shaft is truly unique.

I can't wait for you and the rest of the crew to get fitted by Danny in this shaft.
Its going to improve my game. I'm still battling with the LINQ Red. It might be what I take to the course when I am not contractually obiligated to be hidden

Today in the sim I was hitting something new... that will be a part of the event... with an old shaft... from a previous shaft up event.. I found 168mph ball speed. It wasn't with a recently fit shaft. Strike was key so.... WHO WANTS A POWERCORE???

and what participants have started swing speed training again? :sneaky:

So, I've been tinkering with the UST Swing Fit on their website, but having never actually been fit - I'm not entirely sure what my swing tempo would be. I've been told I have a "quick" swing tempo...but I don't really equate the term "quick" with anything about my game...lol.

These are the recommendations with the 3 different tempos and everything else the same - balance of distance & control, no typical dispersion issues (subject to change).

Anyway - when I go with the quick tempo, this is my recommendation:

When I go with moderate (which makes more sense to me), I get this:

When I go with smooth (there's nothing smooth about my golf game), I get this:

I'm already excited about going to Shaft Up to begin with - but the tempo thing is really intriguing. All the recommendations have me going from 5s in my current gamer (Diamana BB) to 6 - but depending on the tempo, it could be R, S, or X flex in the Powercore shaft.

If anything at all - it emphasizes the importance of proper fitting...because for all the nerding out I do and analyzing my game and reading/learning about equipment - it's all pretty much useless without the help of expert fitters and equipment designers like the great @DannyLe .

Anyway - I wanted to make sure I gave everyone something to ponder and bump the thread one last time before signups end tonight. Remember, THP goes down for maintenance in about a half hour...so if you haven't submitted your entry yet - get to it!

Good luck to all who go, was an awesome event last year!

It's going to be cool to see the sausage get made - because when I selected control focus, I think I got 7x white. When I selected distance focus with mid trajectory, I got 6x red...when I changed it to high trajectory, I got red 6s.

I'm definitely going to be blank canvas for my fitting to make sure I get the truest fit, but it's neat to see how the different results for different elements changes...because they're pretty clearly based on a wider view of multiple elements, and not just the player's swing speed and launch tendencies.

I have played with the Swing Fit tool and the results were interesting. I would so love to have Danny set me up with something I could *know* was right for me without question. Looking forward to seeing who gets those last spots! Whoever it is, is in for a treat!

Can't to see how these shafts transform someones game.

It’s a starting point of which model based on some good questions. Fitting with a person knowledgeable is the best option.

Looking forward to teeing it up with you again.

@DannyLe how do you determine how much to tip a shaft for someone and when doing a fitting how much goes into knowledge of a golf swing compared to just looking at numbers and a giving someone a shaft?

You seem pretty knowledgeable and have a pretty damn good track record of helping folks. :)

I've been choosing (stupidly) just by feel....I don't love the feel of the shaft I'm playing now, though performance has been pretty good. It has been interesting just makes me want to know/understand better. One way or another, that's one of my goals this year.

It depends on golfer feedback and what swing looks like from speed/tempo/transiton.

Also another variable would be head weight on driver if they are playing shorter and adding weight.

There’s never a simple answer for most people.

Appreciate it, dates didn't work out for me to enter, hope one day I get to get fit by you.

I hear you! It is the last week of school for me here and near impossible to miss unfortunately

I decided to take lessons just in case I were get into this. I would want to show up as my best self for a once in a lifetime event.

Not that I didn’t need lessons anyway; I was just tired of getting worse. But THP motivated me.

Great to get better and get lessons but I promise you, in the end it won't matter. Bring whatever swing you swing when the event happens and @DannyLe and the Power Core shafts will make you better. It's what he does. Repeatedly.

I know that. I have seen that. He is a magician. Don’t get me wrong, my best swing will still be slow with an over the top move and nothing close to perfect.

Updated.
Good luck guys, had to do it to keep everybody on their toes.
And yes, Tuxedo could have gone many different ways, but we are a classy group here.
