3 wood & Driver

So I have a problem here. Too make a long story short, I got lessons for the first time at age 28 I’m 35 now. The teacher F’d my swing up so bad I almost quit golf. So after years off the shanks I finally got the ball going straight. Just couldn’t hit woods. Well this year I figured out my woods. I hit a 5W, 3W &Driver.

Sorry if this is long, but I’m trying to just paint the picture. Anyway went to a range today with TrackMan. I hit all my woods great. Couldn’t find a rubber tee short enough for the 5W and 3W, so I just have data off the deck. I got Data with driver obviously off the Tee.My 3 wood goes almost as far as my driver off the deck. Had this problem before. Love my 3&5. Driver I’m hitting in thesweeet spot. Good flightl that etc. but it just don’t get out there in distance!!! WTF TRIED 3 of my drivers!

do I just hit 3 wood and say F it? It’d be nice to drive it 275. I need that on Par 5’s!!!

You'd definitely need to look at the numbers more closely to sort it out: ball speed, spin, smash factor, AoA, etc.. But based on the extra length of the driver alone, you should be getting more speed and thus more distance, so something is holding you back.

For what it's worth, I just swing 3W better than driver. I can square it up better than a driver, so it's just more reliable for me. And with my current 3+, I can bench the driver for those wide open holes where I can just swing away.

I'm guessing swing speed and the shaft you're using have something to do with it. Hard to tell with that little info.

I’ll take 250 finish distance.
I used to be a 300 driver. Was the guy that they brought along to Bomb the ball on the par 5’s at the tournaments.
Now, happy to finish at 225. Although, that was 25 years ago also

Need more data on the clubs you are using and what the trackman said about swing speed, spin, AoA, etc.
