Advice for New Golfers

Turn that filthy hippie music down!!
 
Spend most of your time hitting it long, work with driver, hybrids, etc. first and often, learn to hit those well and every other club gets easier, chipping for an 8 is no fun.
 
dont jump right in to playing 9 or 18 holes. Goo to the range, play a par three course, maybe an exec style course, play the correct tees. Practice however you want to.......but dont just go out and play multiple rounds of golf with no help from someone who hasnt been around the block a time or ten...
 
Get lessons, and not just one and done ... get a series. Things the pro teaches you will click, and you will be ready to for next stage, etc ...

You simple can not buy enough golf equipment, or TV training aids to make your game better ...
 
Learn golf etiquette and use it. Most people don't mind playing with a bad golfer, but they do mind playing with a slow golfer who shows no regard for the course or his fellow players.

Then.... get fitted!
dint buy clubs first
 
Learn which plants in the woods are edible and which ones are not. You'll be spending a lot of time there.
