It is indeed A Thing. Kinda sadly. It’s been many years now.
I used to run a TLAP sale at the Harley shop I worked at - just talk pirate to the cashier, get 15% off. It was a newsletter only sale so the staff weren’t allowed to announce it, and there would be all kinds of fun arguments at the register - “no seriously, please, just say arrr it ahoy, for real!”
