Al Pastor tacos...

Not that I'm aware of unless it varies by region. My wife's family has never made or ordered them that way. The standard at authentic taco places around here is also just onion and cilantro.

most of what I read online this evening about its origins have it coming with pineapple. There were a few things about restaurants in the US not using pineapple for other things leaving it off so not having to order it.

I have always had it cooked with pineapple.Outside of a couple of cheaper joints in Southern California.

Odds are it's fantastic both ways.
 
It’s definitely up there as top one or two for me.
