Announced today. What a remarkable comeback to the game, and going out on his terms.

I always thought he was better than his press clippings. Not necessarily elite, but cetainly a tough competitor. He earned a lot of respect during his career.

It's amazing what he accomplished. Damn allergies getting to me again.

Unreal comeback, good on him for going out still with a smile on his face.

Huge fan. Hope to see him again soon!

Good player and an even better person. I'll miss him.

Feel like he never lived up to his potential. Gruesome injury obviously didn't help. Seems like a good dude though, amazing comeback and gets to leave on his terms, thats pretty cool.

I think you have a movie in the books that could be just about his career and comeback.

From those who I've spoken to that have in some way or another worked with or been around Alex Smith and his family during his time in KC, he/they are great people. I always liked him as a starter for the Chiefs, he just never had that "next level" they needed. He was for sure a heck of a player, strong and determined, no doubt. I wish him all the best in retirement. 👊

Amazing comeback! Doesnt get much tougher overcoming that injury!
