I'm looking for courses out there that are a little Willy Wonka, I love a Stranz design, I've golfed every public one I can golf. Are there any other designers out there similar to him or courses that come to mind that interesting like that. I've already done Wolf Creek, anything else come to mind?

I'm big Stranz fan too. played Royal New Kent and Tot Hill Farm two weeks ago. Shattuck in Jaffrey, NH is Stranz like, Twisted Dune near Atlantic City, NJ has some elements similar. Cabot Cliffs Nova Scotia Perranporth, England All quite unique.

I've played The Quarry and Lac la Belle from that "fun" list and agree they are a blast. I'd add Mammoth Dunes to that list too, just so much fun to play. But none of those hold a candle to Tobacco Road for the Wow Factor on hole after hole with the blind shots, risk/reward plays, etc.

I'm playing True Blue next week Friday, can't wait to test out another Strantz design!

I have played Monarch Dunes (from that list) and will say that I thought of it before knowing it was on that list. Fantastic and crazy course but a really fun layout. They also opened a 13-hole par 3 "Challenge" course as well that originally was free to play the day you played the big course. I have probably played 5 rounds on Monarch and it was different each time as the surroundings changed with them flipping the 9's to the growth of the homes surrounding the holes and the ripping out of trees along a few holes that bordered the "highway".
One of the par 3's (originally hole 3) had something like 10 bunkers and each one had it's own rake, even if the bunker was only 3 feet in diameter.

Loved True Blue.

The course I would have recommended here closed but this article says these other courses would be similar type of fun (and includes Tobacco Road).
I like that Fossil Trace made the fun course list. It’s not a course list would traditionally considered good. But the gimmicks on the back 9 make for a fun round.

I had to look Fossil Trace up. That’s a beautiful course…

Driving to Myrtle Beach today and we pulled off the road to get gas.

And realized it was the same exit as Tot Hill Farm. Pretty hard not to change our travel plans and go play some golf!

So, what did you shoot?!

Oh, wait, you didn't play?

Cabot Citrus Farms, the Karoo Course, reminded me a little of a Stranz course.

I dont know it it was mentioned, but what about Wolf Creek in mesquite?
It always seemed like a crazy-ass course.

Greywalls (MI) is a little off the beaten path but is a very similar course to Tot Hill Farm. Rugged natural features, significant elevation changes on virtually every hole, never a level lie. You'll likely get a few unfair bounces on well played shots, and possibly fortunate bounces on poorer shots just like at THF. DeVries designed Greywalls to embrace as much of the natural ruggedness of that terrain as possible.

Was blown away the first time I played it. I'm intimately familiar with every nook and cranny of the land Greywalls was built on as it was right out my back door. Even though the course was built decades after I left home for the USAF, most of the features were still exactly as I remembered them from my youth. Little wild brook trout still flitting around in untouched pools and riffles I used to fish, same craggy old tree on a granite ridge my little brother shot his first buck from etc...

This hole represents many at Greywalls:
