Are the golf sunglasses any good?

Switched between the Oakley's G28 and G30 for years. Recently switched to the Road Prizm, and like them a lot. They're really close to being in between, but the rose tint has a better overall view.

I wear Oakley prescription sun glasses also, but was not thrilled with the Transition lens that I bought.
I then found out there are transition lens that work in a car [XTRactive lens] and will actually darken, but Oakley does not offer them, so I bought them from Fuse Lens.
Very happy with them and they lighten up indoors or in low light on the golf course. I wear them for all phases of golf, but to be honest, my green reading sucks and always has.

They are also my daily drivers and work great.
Very cool. Thank you 👊🏼

I've had Oakley, Maui Jim's and now Scheyden.

Scheyden's are by far the best. Will be ordering another pair with presscription soon. Great product and price.

Oakley's were the worst for me. I actually was not too bummed when I lost them in some bushes when the popped off my hat.

I just use my regular prescription sunglasses and only take them off if i need to really see in a dark area (woods, clouds, etc)

How do you order the Scheyden with prescription lens? I find nothing on the website.
Never mind, the dropdown is now showing up for all except the one I first tried, the CIA Panorama.

Ordered regular CIA - Panorama looked too large for my face... THP20 still valid. Thx!

I’ve used several different pairs because I always wear glasses. The best ones by far for me have been the Scheyden. I grabbed a pair because of the reviews everyone had in this thread Scheyden Testing. They’ve held up incredibly well compared to everything else I’ve used. I would 100% recommend them.

Wow, what a timely, helpful thread...am going to play a LOT more golf this year and noted that I'm seeing better out on the course with some inexpensive fishing sunglasses versus my $400 polarized prescription sunglasses. Since I have to wear sunglasses due to an eye disease, I'll be investigating the Scheydens, Oakleys, and other options right away

Been buying the cheap disposable sunglasses. Tired of not being able to see ball flight, or read the greens. Just ordered a pair of Scheyden's based on the feedback here. If the OP is considering, or anyone else, the THP20 discount still works. Helped make the decision easier.

I just looked at that too.
I have a huge head (last button on a snap back)
I was thinking maybe the panoramas but alas no prescription.
I'm afraid to order without trying them on.
Happy with my Reks transitions for golf lately

Did you get to try on before buying?

Rudy Project , make and have done for many years fabulous glasses . For sports ,if your dont believe me . Watch Olympics etc .. every second athlete wears them . Yes they do golf specific lens .. green tint , to improve acuity .

Also use Oakley Sunglasses, differing styles and lens .

I do have 10 pairs of various sunglasses ( it’s a fetish lol )

Make sure you get shape that fits your head ,
And face fit , so light doesn’t reflect in too .

I have always just worn some cheap sunglasses I had but this thread has me thinking about trying some "golf specific" sunglasses

I am a big fan of the Oakley dark golf lenses. They definitely help with reading greens and spotting balls. Once there’s wear out I’ll take a look at scheyden

Sheyden and Tifosi have great lenses designed specifically for golf. I'm wearing Tifosi currently and actually think my green reading has improved. It takes out some of the shadows and bright spots on the greens. Previously, the green reading was the only issue I had with golf sunglasses. Oakleys and UA still gave me issues on the green.
What Tifosi did you enjoy? I bought a pair that I thought would be close to flak jackets and they just were oversized and terrible as lense were too dark

Also note , everyone’s eyes perceive and see differently , your datum point won’t be the same .
And would imagine your playing in different conditions and light … so a singular solution or manufacturer may not be the optimum choice .

Trying on differing light and seasons depending wear you play and live will provide best evidence of what , is best for you .

Notwithstanding that some may also need to have prescriptive glasses for aiding vision

For how much longer might Sheyden's THP20 code be available? And does this discount for most of the golf sunglasses get the price below the free shipping threshold?

Tifosi Crit Matte Black with the Golf Fototec lens. They are on the darker side when it is cloudy out, but I have always worn sunglasses playing, so I really didn't notice anything. They're very even in the sunlight.

I used it yesterday to buy a pair 5/8/25. Seems to have been active for awhile.

No, I did not have the occasion - there is a return policy. But without many choices, I don't have a large face and did not think the panorama would fit well.

For Scheyden, what's the recommendation on the lenses? LT33 or LT16?

I think they give a description - if it's bright sun most of the time, use this one. If it's a bit cloudy or dark use another. I might end up buying both.

I wear sunglasses almost all the time when I’m outside or driving. I can’t wear them while hitting shots or putts but will wear them in between shots. We only see a small fraction of PGA Tour pros wearing them while hitting shots and they must have their reasons why they don’t want them while golfing. I know my polarized lenses mess with my depth perception while putting.
I wear sunglasses 99.9% of the time I'm outside. I've never tried taking them off for shots, but have read many similar posts to this. Think I'm give it a try today taking them off for shots and see if a notice a difference.

I've got the 16 and they're great, even in low light.
