in "advance" of the round? Unless it is a tournament round.....no. Grab a yardage book if its a new course or pay attention to your gps.

Most of the courses I'll play, I have played before. If it's a new to me course, I may look in advance as to layout. However, I tend to play with the game and swing I bring to the course, so preparing in advance as to how I may want to play the holes really isn't all the beneficical for me.

I used to, until I realized I'm just going to pull driver anyways.

I’m starting to look at courses on google maps and measuring things to justify just pulling driver.

I’ll try for THP events or bigger tournaments but with how I play it doesn’t take long for the initial plan to get blown up.

I try to. But typically it all gets a bit overwhelming and by the time I get to the first tee all I've planned or visualized goes out the window. Just keep it in play after that.
