Has anyone ever played Poston Butte? It looks worth a drive but I dont want to waste my time if its trash.
I like Poston butte, but have not been there in a few years.

I buddy a mine play Poston a few weeks ago and said the conditions there were pretty good. I have not played there in a while but it is a fun golf course. It is in the middle of a retirement village but I can't think of any of the houses being "in play." Plus an island green Par 3.

In the same area as Poston Buttes, is Johnson Ranch. That was a fun track and very reasonable prices with better than average conditions when I played it.

Going to Tuscon the 2nd week of March. Any recommendations for public courses?

Will likely have to play in the afternoon. Is the pace of play concern? Will I need to make a tee time 5-hours or more before sunset?

Thanks in advance for any help..

If you have any interest in playing Sewailo just let me know......I think I could make a tee time for you for a very reasonable rate.

Anyone want to play GCU this Friday?

I would love to but have to work. In about a month, the owner heads back to Kansas so I will be more free on weekdays.

Any course recommendations for the Bullhead City/Laughlin area? Checking out some properties for retirement on Feb.27-29 and want to get in a round or 2 while I'm in the sunshine and warmth.

Not familiar with the area, TR. Any particular reason you're looking in that area for retirement (out of curiosity)?

sorry I missed this. I had to work but would have at least said I would have joined you otherwise.

Always wanted to retire in Arizona and with my wife's only sister living in California that's as close as we can get, 4hr drive. Also figure if I get bored and want to find some part time gig, being in the marine industry for over 30 yrs., I could find something on the Colorado River.
I wish I had looked at the dates for the gathering you guys are having before I booked everything, I would have been all over that!:(

This is a great course to play. If you can team up with some Tucson THPers, it even better!

Sorry, but I have not played up that way. There look to be a few good courses in Laughlin when I did a search that I would like to try it I am ever up that way!

Well, look at it this way, once you find a place and get settled in, you'll be able to join a bunch of us from all over the state. I'm in the eastern section of the state so, I have to travel at least 2.5 to 3.5 hours to play with our AZ THPers. It doesn't bother me a bit to make a long day or even a weekend of it. Once you get everything settled we'll get something together. This AZ contingent is an awesome group of guys. Don't be surprised if there's a "Turtlerancher's Welcome to AZ Unofficial Event" in this forum, at some point. Just sayin'..........................

I think Arizona May have the most active THP groups going right now. I am making a point to get out there at least once a year from here on out. Great group of guys that I met (@Double21, @Wildcat4life & @MagicSpell) and they said great things about the rest of the crew.

Looking forward to our next round!!

Laughlin Ranch (in Bullhead City) is a nice track, probably my favorite in that area. Mojave Resort (at the Avi Casino) is a good one also. I haven't played El Rio or Los Lagos in a while so I don't know what their current condition is, but I've enjoyed them in the past.

If you end up down in the Parker area, don't pass up Emerald Canyon. It's slow golf this time of year, but a great course - very challenging and lots of fun.

If anyone is interested in playing March 1 in the phoenix area, send me a pm. I would like to get a group or two together to play in the PHX area for under $100 and start at 9am or earlier. I am open to course suggestions, but I usually just book on golfnow. We can eat lunch after.
If there is still room I would be interested in joining you guys. Been in PHX for a year and have yet to enjoy a round with any THP'ers.

If not please don't hesitate to PM me also for future outings.

Southern Dunes was is great shape today. Me and a buddy of mine walked it in just over 3 hrs.

This Sunday 4/26, @tanker337 and I are playing Ak Chin Southern Dunes at 9:40am. Does anyone want to join us? @Wildcat4life has a GolfNow reservation that he can not use. He offered to pay the confidence fee, but you'd be responsible for the rest at the course.
